This is an interesting storyline. It is a different foundation for an adult romance. Unfortunately the editing was excrutiatingly sloppy. "Not" was used when "no" should have been used. Sloppy punctuation, skipped words, and other miscues made it hard work for the reader. The poor editing broke the flow of the reading so badly that I found that I lost focus trying to interpret what the writer meant to happen. The editing was so horrendous I took off two stars!!! The editor/editors should be fired. Or perhaps English proficient editors should have been hired in the first place! I may not finish the story because I really do not want to work so hard! It is a rainy day. I am snuggled up with hot cider at hand. It was suppose to be a lazy day. If I finish the book, I will cririque the story instead of the editing!!!!

Despite the numerous typos and odd formating, Slow Burn was an enjoyable read. The love happened a smidge too quickly but it wasn't insta-love by any means. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the plot was thrilling, and the sexy scenes were very tastefully done.

Demented Arsonist ¿ Talented Artist ¿ Firefighter who wants the truth exposed- will the truth find its way, or will they find themselves buried with it? Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a tragic fire on her 15th birthday, for ten years she has blocked all memory of that horrid night. Ashley has chosen to move on with life, paint to her hearts desire, photograph what she loves and deal with the nightmares that hold the truth. Ashley is a successful artist-photographer, living her life with no added complications until one morning her male model turns up at her door and she asks him to strip to his briefs, ready for a session, when he informs her that he is not who she thinks he is. He is indeed the son of the man who died saving her from the fire in Calyle house 10 years prior. Ron Noble. Ron believes the fire may have been deliberately lit; Ashley just wants to move on, she has accepted what has happened. Did someone kill Ashley¿s parents? Was the fire set deliberately? Ron wants to expose the truth, and he needs Ashley on his side, to do so. Ron Noble wants to find out what happened that dreaded night. Ashley understands his pain they both lost loved ones, feeling drawn to Ron not only for his charming ways, but feels maybe it is time to find out the truth... Ashley agrees to help Ron, the electricity between them is sizzling, they both feel it, but as secrets are unraveled, mysteries divulged, they find themselves in a whirlwind of turns and twists they could never have imagined. People on the list are getting killed, the toll is getting higher and more is at stake that then could ever have imagined. It¿s left up to Ashley to remember details of the accident something that will change her life forever. Wow!!!! I must say this romantic thriller, was filled with twists and turns at every corner. I was intrigued from beginning to end with this read, and at one stage I felt like a crazed reader, flickering through 100 miles per hour just to find out whom, what, where and why!!! A suspenseful thriller- romance that will leave you bewildered, guessing and wandering who the killer was, and why. An unpredictable plot by any means, suspense that will leave you gasping, unexpected events that will bring tears to your eyes; make you fume at events that take place, and also making the plot both intriguing and memorable. Chapters flowed smoothly, the plot was fast paced, and kept the reader interested throughout from beginning to end. I felt not a thing was missed or rushed...Slow burn was filled with luscious sensual love scenes, that not only with have your toes curling, eyelashes fluttering, but your heart racing like a bird in flight. Moments where you will find yourself grinning with amusement at the funny antics between the characters, and moments where you heart is being played like a marionette and scenes where you want to just jump into the book. The main characters were well developed, Ron ¿ was charming and flirtatious, cocky, and hot to trot, a rich businessman, and every womans ideal dream boat - yet also has his own vunerabilites, this showed the reader he was not that perfect hot firefighter- playboy and that he also had issues he had to deal with. Loving and caring and sexy an idealistic hero for all. A tortured soul to a certain extent. Ashley was hot headed and independent, caring and considerate, but also I enjoyed her straight forward character, she liked the truth and believed to give it at all costs. She was passionate about her work and the ones she loved, determined to do what it took to keep the ones she loved out of danger. The blazing attraction between Ron and Ashley was mesmerizing, tantalizing and passionate. Sex scenes were sensual and loving, electrifying- if you make call it, yet at times also dreamy and transient. Their love was portrayed, tastefully and emotionally giving a good insight to their feelings. Both the good and the bad moments. The descriptions in this

3.5 Stars! This was a great mystery novel with a side of romance. Ashley Fitzgerald lost her parents to a fire when she was 15. She hasn't been able to remember what happened that night but is still haunted by the events years later. Ron Noble lost his father to the same fire. He has been receiving mysterious notes implying the fire was no accident and leading him on a path to find the truth. One of the names listed in the letters is Ashley. For a mystery novel this had everything you can love. I spent the whole time trying to figure out who, what and why's of the story. It was well written and kept me engaged. The romance part of the story was just ok for me. It was overshadowed by the mystery and since I read more for romance, that's why this story was a "like" and not a "love". I am curious about the rest of the series and do plan to read them. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Plenty of drama and suspense. The characters were okay and the story was a little slow for my taste. Just an okay read for me.

This is the first book I've read by E.B. Walters. I enjoyed it so much, I immediately purchased the rest of the Fitzgerald family series books (to date) and read them all over my vacation. In addition to the story of Ron and Faith, the author introduces you to many of the other members of the extensive Fitzgerald family. This is an extremely well written story with complex, lovable (and some not so lovable) characters. Loved the thriller/mystery element, the personal connection between the main characters and the loving, protective Fitzgerald family. I am definitely a fan and will be watching for future books by Ms. Walters!

What a cover!! WOW Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a fire at the age of fifteen. Now hunted by the memories, she relies on her paintings and photographs to relieve her of the pain the memories bring. She has learned to live with the nightmares; she has learned to pretend that she’s not affected by them anymore. Ashley is a strong woman and a successful artist, but is she strong enough to go through the worst day of her life to find the responsible for the fire? Ron Noble is a successful business man and part-time firefighter, he has the looks and the money to get whatever he wants, whoever he wants. But he is chased by rumors, rumors that leave him doubting who he is and what he stands for. And after receiving various unknown messages he is set to find the truth behind the fire from ten years ago. The fire that killed his father, the fire that his very own father could be responsible for, and his only way of doing that is by going after the only witnessed that survived it, Ashley. When Ashley refuses to meet up with him, under the ruse he created of needing a painting for his grandmother, he decides to show at her place, uninvited. Having been waiting all morning for her model, Ashley was a little bit more than irritated. So, when the doorbell rang and outside her door stood a handsome man, she didn’t think twice before scowling him for being late and pulling him inside, and then asking him to take his shirt off. You can imagine how that went. When Ron asks for Ashley’s help she obviously refuses, not only did he not say from the beginning she was mistaking him for her model, but he was also intent on making her relive her worst nightmare. I admit I liked Ron’s persistence. He was, most of the time, pretty arrogant, alright? But arrogant or not the man got the thing going. If we were to wait for Ashley and her constant overthinking we would get no-freaking-where. Not that I blame her, it was not an easy thing to do either. But. But if you have a man like Ron all to yourself, you know… go for it! Stop overthinking it! I had a few disagreements with Ashley along the story, especially with her need to protect the ones that did not need protecting. I understand that when you love someone you want them to be safe, but be forward with them. I cannot stand when people do things behind your back for your own good! I swear I can’t deal with that. But moving on now. The chemistry flowing between them was just… whoa! There were quite a few hot-hot-hot scenes, that mind you I thought would never end. Seriously. I was honestly fearing for their lives. Well, I am just kidding. Or maybe not. Anyway. Needless to say I was rooting for them pretty badly. The way Ron was protective of her was just… swoon! What probably made me love him the most was the fact that, even though Ashley did try to push him away for his own good, he didn’t give up, he never gave up on her. The suspense was killing me! I was biting my nails and suffering along with them. Trying to find the responsible for the fire and I was honestly wrecking my brain to discover who was sending the letters and all that. Slow Burn was a nerve wracking, hair pulling, and heartwarming tale. It has enough suspense and mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat; it has enough romance and passion to keep you swooning and aww’ing. It’s full of twists and turns, heartache and love; it’s an emotional roller coaster that had me glued to the pages till the very end.

Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed her parent's death by fire 10 yrs ago and doesn't remember a thing. She has moved on, or so she thinks, until Ron Noble steps into her life and makes her wonder, what exactly she saw that night. Ron has everything, including a huge secret. He has approached Ashley hoping to clear his father's name but when things start to heat up between the two of them, the fire 10 yrs ago, will the be least of their concerns. This story was filled with twists and turns that kept you glued to the pages until the very end. It was thrilling, sexy, sensual, emotional, and so much more. It grabbed me at the beginning and didn't let go. The plot was exciting and flowed extremely well. The story read fast but left nothing out. Ron was amazing. He's a filthy rich playboy with a great body and is extremely talented yet there was an emotional side that the author did a fantastic job showing the readers. Ashley is a talented artist and one that you don't want to push around. She is incredibly independent and extremely straight forward but yet vulnerable and broken. Ms Walters did an amazing job making me feel what the characters felt and believe the emotions that were explained on the pages. Both characters were well put together and thought out. The chemistry between then was smokin and sheet burning good. This is an emotional roller coaster that had me giggling, crying, fanning myself, and cursing all before the last page. The villains were truly demented and their actions were well explained and thought out. I found myself wanting to stop them yet not knowing who "them" was till the very end. I enjoyed this story immensely and cannot wait to read the other Fitsgerald books in the series.

Hea y'all Anne here and I've just finished reading Slow Burn by Ednah Walters and here goes. This is definitely an adult book the story line brings several twists and turns that keep the reader interested and coming back for more. The main characters Ron and Ashley have a bond forged by fire, they both suffered a tragic loss 10 years ago when an A list club caught fire and burned. Ron has been coaxed and lured into opening the investigation back up. Clues and trails have lead him to the one person who might have the answers, Ashley. Ashley however can't remember a thing about that night but that she lost everything important to her, now a premiere artist she paints her feelings and escapes the past through her art. The characters are fabulous and intriguing, their instant connection is provocative and hot. When each person tries to deny their feelings for each other it eventually boils to a point. The trails have not only uncovered truth but also a match between two people that will leave your imagination running wild and your body heated with need. The chemistry between Ron and Ashley is seductive and sensual, the love scenes are breathtaking and are sure to increase your heart rate every time. Ron cherishes Ashley because she is different and strong but vulnerable and needy and the same time. Ashley needs Ron to hold her and protect her but is it from an unknown villain or her own insecurities? The scenes brought forth in the memories of Ashley are tragic and painful, but the love she harbors for Ron is enticing and passionate you'll be turning these pages quicker than your breaths being taken. I highly recommend this book if you love a mystery with murder and betrayal, plus the added bonus of characters who can't get enough of each other. An author who can describe a scene of love making to the point of bring your blood to a boil and quickening your pulse. It's intense and gripping a must read for the ladies out in the world. Fall in love with fire fighters and want one of your own. 5 out of 5 stars for Slow Burn by Ednah Walters.
