The test cooks at America's Test Kitchen have worked their magic again, developing and perfecting an all-new collection of 200 slow-cooker recipes. With this volume, we looked at this must-have appliance in new ways to truly maximize its potential. You'll learn how to make a host of dishes like Garlicky Shrimp, Chicken Soft Tacos, and Flourless Chocolate Cake--recipes you'd never expect to see coming out of a slow cooker. The moist heat of the slow cooker is tailor-made to serve up flavorful stews, chilis, and braises (and don't worry--we've included a good number of these), but with our smart strategies and clever ingredient selections, we were also able to pull off spice-rubbed roast chicken, ziti with meaty ragu, rare roast beef, poached salmon and even cheesecake.

I am a fan of America's Test Kitchen cookbooks and slow cooking. I thought the recipes in Slow Cooker Revolution were great if a little labor intensive, volume 2 pares down the labor but you still end up with great tasting meals. So far I have made 13 of the vol.2 recipes and the family liked all of them. The guys particularly liked Garlicky Shrimp and the Italian Pork and Polenta Bake. My three year old pronounced me the "best cooker ever" after Pork Loin with Pears and Cherries. I particularly liked Lemony Chicken with Artichokes and Capers. In short, great tasting recipes, relatively easy prep, and dinner is ready when you get home.
Very smart cookbook. For the first time my dishes are cooking properly. Nothing is over cooked or mushy. This books explains the " how too" & "why" of crock pot cooking. This is a great gift for yourself or a friend.
Smart New Techniques, Even Less Prep with your amazing food for everyday consumption.
The recipes weren't very appetizing and they relied on lots of microwaving.
Just received this cookbook and started with "smothered pork shops." Very good. Looking forward to trying more.
I'm sure the author worked hard in preparing this cook book, but I was disappointed. I could have gotten recipes on line without spending the money for the cost of the book.
