As a mother of young children, I very rarely read a book that doesn't have a picture on every page. Even when I do, it usually takes me over a month to get through it. That was not the case with Slow Eddie, with a storyline that immediately grabbed me, characters who I quickly became "friends" with, and writing that kept me entertained, invested, and connected, I read it in two days! I whole-heartedly recommend this book, you won't be disappointed!
I bought the book because it's set in Cape Cod, but I enjoyed it because of its multi-faceted characters and the way their stories were woven into one that kept me interested throughout. I shared Slow Eddie with my friends and family this summer and everyone agreed it was a worthy read. You should give Bruce Jones' first novel a try - you'll be waiting in line with the rest of us for his second novel!
I really enjoyed "Slow Eddie." The characters were human and you felt their emotions as if they were your own. The pace of the novel is great and it's the type of book you want to finish in one sitting as you just fall into their location and reality. Definitely recommending it to friends! Here's hoping this new author shares more.
