I have mixed feelings about this book. While the author is skilled and the book is filled with magnificent imagery that made me want to go to Montana and see if it is as beautiful as I imagined, I had some issues with the plot. I was very interested in Nikki’s journey towards learning to trust, and I was very interested in Wade’s family ranch and his very complicated relationship with his brother, Dirk. I found myself eager to know how the situation would be resolved. So, why three stars?  I didn’t get the couple. I tried, but I didn’t feel the chemistry they swore they had. Their conversations were regular. Their sex scenes were hot, sure. But the insta-love they experienced didn’t seem to make sense. Nikki continuously claims to be independent, that it’s just this situation that’s making her a mess, but we never see proof of that. Still, Wade seems to instinctively know this. Wade is often crass, but Nikki sees him as a perfect gentleman. Let’s not discuss the random extra characters that pop up just because this is meant to be a series (why do Shelby and Janice even exist?) or the random sexist comments from Wade about hysterical women. I just couldn’t love this one.

Slow Hand is my first book by Victoria Vane and I love it!  Slow Hand is a well written book and the characters are awesome.  Wade and Nikki's story is entertaining and laced with humor.  I look forward to reading more from Victoria Vane in the near future.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

3.5 out of 5 stars I liked this story a lot. It was fun and flirty with a whole lot of sexy cowboy thrown in. It was just really entertaining and I enjoyed reading it. I really liked both Nikki and Wade. Nikki had a great sassy attitude throughout and I liked that she could be challenging. Wade was extremely charming and sweet. They had this great back and forth verbal sparring going on that was highly entertaining. There was really good chemistry between them that lead to a nice amount of hot times. Nikki and Wade had a lot of ups and downs in their relationship with a bit of turmoil and emotion thrown in and I thought it all played out nicely. They both could be extremely stubborn and it stressed me out a bit but I loved them coming together. I did like the ending and the epilogue but I felt like it was missing an emotional element and it felt a bit anticlimactic to me. That being said, it was sweet and sexy and I was happy with the conclusion.  Overall I thought this was a really good fast paced, solid story that was highly entertaining and it was pretty high up there with the hotness factor as well. I will definitely read more by this author.

Really enjoyable read. Wade and Nicole(Nikki) meet and there is instant chemistry. You feel for both characters-for Nikki, she is alone and having to come to grips with dealing with her father's death and all that encompasses. Wade is a lawyer who feels like he has to try and save everyone: the family ranch, his brother, his parents. When the reader gets involved in the story, that's a sign of a great story. Honestly, Nikki probably handled stuff better than I if I was in the same situation, but I certainly wouldn't mind having a hot cowboy to help me out!   Sexy, hot, erotic but still filled with every day problems. That's the sign of a great story.

Wow! Wade and Nikki steam up the pages in Ms. Vane's first ever contemp romance! Nikki Powell does not like to fly – at all – so when she encounters every imaginable thing that can go wrong while traveling from Georgia to Montana, she’s not happy. Then as if things can’t get any worse, the truly worst thing happens. She has no choice but to hitch a ride the last leg of her journey with, not only the man she thought a typical arrogant, womanizing cowboy, but he happens to be the lawyer handling her deceased estranged father’s estate – and he’s gorgeous sexy. Wade Knowlton is returning home to try to talk his brother into selling the declining family ranch for a huge sum of money when he notices a beautiful damsel in distress who has missed her flight and is crying on the floor. Being the chivalrous guy he sometimes regrets being, he gives up his seat for her and drives the long hours from Denver to Bozeman, Montana. When he receives a frantic call from a woman who claims to have lost her wallet, phone, and who knows what else, but managed to have his phone number, he tells her to wait where she is in Bozeman and he’ll get there as soon as possible. She turns out to be the same damsel in distress from the airport. Life just keeps getting more interesting by the moment for Wade, but he’s not too very sorry he helped the beautiful Nikki – not yet anyway. Never did he think she’d break his heart after he rescued her. Just when I think Victoria Vane can no longer surprise me with her talent and amazing characters, she does it again. Her sensual romances continue to burn up the pages of every book she conjures. SLOW HAND, the first book in the Hot Cowboy Nights series is hot, hot, hot! Wade Knowlton is the sexiest man to wear cowboy boots and a hat. He also happens to be lawyer who gives new meaning to the word briefs. I was in love with this man before I got a third of the way into the book, and was ready to kick Nikki in her damsel in distress hot ass if she didn’t get him into bed soon. The banter between these two characters was enough to make me worry about my reader overheating. The secondary characters brought humor, emotion, angst, and reality to the story without overpowering Wade and Nikki’s growing attraction for each other. Wade had his own cheering section, and Nikki was on the right performance track as far as his family and friends were concerned. She had nothing to lose and everything to gain from her visit to Montana yet she was willing to throw it all away because she was afraid to open her heart to falling in love. SLOW HAND by Victoria Vane is delightful, funny, page turning steamy sexy, and the romance between Wade and Nikki make you wish you could pull Victoria’s characters straight off the page and into real life. I'm beginning to think Victoria could write a phone book and make it sexy. I highly recommend this amazing first book in a brand new contemporary series available now and I can't wait for book two, ROUGH RIDE. ***eARC provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

4 Stars…Sizzling Chemistry! Some families make sacrifices for one another while some members walk away.  Nicole Powell faces her fear of flying to lay a bitter past to rest. Her plan is to get in and out of Montana, wrap-up business, face ghosts, and make her way home to Georgia in a few days. Bad weather and a missed connecting flight throw a big kink in her plans. What’s even more aggravating is the sexy cowboy who is staring at her…and he’s not staring at her face!  Wade Knowlton understands sacrifice. He’s the son of a rancher. Yet ranching is not the career path he chose. Practicing law is the only thing keeping his family’s ranching business afloat during a depress economy. Convincing his family, especially his brother, to sell the Flying K is not the only source of friction. Yet guilt and family loyalty keep him bound to a small-town practice. Now, he’s given up his plane seat to a pretty woman who caught his eye…and she’s giving him the evil eye! Women have always come easily to Wade. Cowboys have always broken Nicole’s heart. This time will be different. Nicole gave up cowboys a long time ago, but this particular cowboy is about to show her chivalry isn’t dead. What are the signs of sexual chemistry? Let’s see. There’s an electric current that zings between two people, with a hyperawareness of one’s glances. There’s an overwhelming need to get physically closer. The eyes are drawn to the lips as they move followed by a shocking urge to kiss. The myriad of feelings are hard to ignore! This is what I felt between the hero and heroine of “Slow Hand.” It was hot! These characters had mind-blowing chemistry, which I haven’t felt in a novel in a very long time! Ms. Vane easily steamed up the pages! And it isn’t the sexy times that are surprising. It’s how vivid the main characters are.  Wade isn’t a stereotypical cowboy, although his heroine lumps him with all the others. He makes a credible lawyer and default rancher. Nicole, while interesting, isn’t the most compelling heroine. Her reticence is understandable, but I wish there had been more to her character than a history of bad relationships. Yet, when the characters are together they are magnetic! It doesn’t hurt that one of the sexiest actors (to me) – a smooth charmer with a Texas twang - was cast in my mind as Wade. If all Ms. Vane’s books brim with the chemistry found in this contemporary romance I do look forward to more in the Hot Cowboy Nights series! Reviewed by Jen Book provided by NetGalley for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I’m always on the look for new western romance writers. I’d heard of Victoria Vane from a friend who loves her historicals and I had the pleasure of meeting Ms Vane at a conference last year. So, when I hear about this book, I knew I had to give it a try. I’ll admit, parts of this book were pretty cookie cutter. Instead of going hardcore western, it’s set in Montana and there is a ranch involved, but other than a visit there, but that’s about it. And it just wasn’t enough for me. Then you have the girl who has come from the city to the country to say goodbye to her father and settle his estate and her too good to be true lawyer. I know characters need flaws, but I’ve never been a fan of a whiny heroine or a character that falls into love at first sight. Nicole was so focused on the fact that she couldn’t love a cowboy that she couldn’t see the prize in front of her. And boy does she have a stubborn streak that just made me want to shake her. And then there is Wade who is a sucker for a damsel in distress and seemingly falls for Nicole rather fast and hard. Now I sound like I’m bashing the book, but I’m really not. These are little factors that kept it from being that “must-read” book for me. I really did enjoy the story. Once I got reading, I was drawn into the story. Was it a completely original story? No… but that’s rather hard to find. But it had it’s moments and I’m rather curious where the series is going to go from here.

This contemporary romance features Nikki (our heroine, leading a lackluster life in Georgia) and Wade (our successful lawyer hero in Montana).  Nikki’s long-absent father’s death and a letter from a Montana law office causes her to fly to Sheridan, Montana to settle her father’s affairs.  That’s when this story gets very interesting.  Due to previous disappointing relationships with cowboys, Nikki is not favorably disposed to cowboy types and bristles at Wade’s too-friendly, “down home” flirty attitude.  It is immediately apparent that a “slow hand” is exactly what Wade is going to need to gentle Nikki to his way of thinking.  What follows is a steamy courtship, interspersed with misconceptions, volatile emotions and antics that caused bouts of hilarity for this reader.  I thoroughly enjoyed this western-style romance.

Slow Hand is a warm, fun, feisty rural town romance. It even got me into the holiday spirit even though it’s not meant as a holiday based read. Nicole Powell has just found out that her estranged father has died. Heading to rural Montana is the last thing she wants to do but she feels she owes her father and herself closure. With a serious of unfortunate events, Nicole finds herself stranded with no ID or money, when a sexy cowboy arrives to save the day. Wade Knowlton is a successful lawyer as well as helping his family maintain their cattle ranch. It’s taken a toll on Wade’s love life but he’s not looking for serious relations until the day a sassy but distraught Ms. Powell wanders into his life. Nikki was a southern bell that has been burned one too many times by sexy cowboys. She is highly resistant to Wade’s charms but resistance is futile when you are stuck together 24/7 or so you’d think. Wade's goal is to ensnare Nikki while Nikki just wants to run the other way. I did find Nikki’s head not in the right place and Wade’s about face a little abrupt but in the end, I enjoyed reading this heartwarming, slow building romance.  Slow Hand is a perfectly delightful, hometown romance with a swoon worth cowboy in boots.

Nicole is not having a good day. On her way to settle her estranged father’s estate she bumps into an arrogant cowboy name Wade. Nicole is embarrassed to realize that Wade is not the guy she thought he was. Wade offers his seat to get her to Montana and then is there when she needs to be rescued again and it just so happen he is the lawyer for her father's estate, one of the many hat he wears. Sweet, sexy and great read. Nicole and Wade are great together both being hurt in the past, it takes Nicole a little while longer to fall. The story is easy to escape into and will keep you hooked until the very end. Enjoy!

As their attraction flares into a passion they can't avoid, will they discover that love can lead to greener pastures?" What I enjoyed from the read..... I enjoyed this sweet well written contemporary romance by Ms. Vane. It was definitely one read that would make you smile at some of its humorous one liners that are going on in this read. Life had not been kind to Nikki when it came to men so when her father dies and has left her something and she has no idea what it could be since it has been a long time since she had seen him. Now Nikki has to leave Chicago and fly which she hated to Montana. We find Nikki not to happy camper especially not having much luck with men as you will see from the read. Will Nikki find happiness when she finally meets her lawyer who just happens to be a 'Sexy Montana Cowboy? Now that will leave another question...what all is going on with Wade guy? Wade was a definitely a cowboy with slow hands who had a brother (Dirk) who had a list of problems of his own, a fail father and a sweet mom. What all has happened in Wade's life that leaves him with a "chip the size of Montana on his shoulder?" I did love how this author was able to bring these two(Nikki and Wade) together and omg the sex is hot and simply off the chart! I don't want to give too much away other than saying there will be some twist and turns for Nikki that she will go through. The question is will Nikki decides to let go and take some new chances in her life? Can the love that Wade has for Nikki be enough for her to take a risk for love? Hopefully, will she?...well again I don't want to give it away so you will just have to pick up "Slow Hand" to see how this author will present it to the readers. I did find this story a little predictable in some of the read but still it didn't take anything away from this well written story. If you are looking for a good romance with a lovable cowboy you have come to the right place.... for "Slow Hand" would be recommended to you.

My Thoughts As a fan of all things cowboy and contemporary western type romance had to give this one a try as have not read any of the other works penned by author. First impression of Nicole Powell was not really favorable, she came across as a bit too immature for someone who was pushing 30 and had made her way through college on her own merits. Wade Knowlton did not really present his best foot forward either, even though he did his best to live up to the manners his mother instilled in him from boyhood. This was however all forgiven once the fireworks started as the Montana cowboy broke down the barriers erected by the Georgia girl whose past mistakes with choosing the wrong man left her unable to place her full trust in believing that she had finally chosen the right man in Wade. While Nicole still came across to me as a bit flaky for her age Wade had some issues as well so as the two worked out their differences grew a little more invested in their relationship actually coming together with a satisfactory ending. This book hooked me quickly and as a matter of fact could not believe how far had read before stopping to go to bed, it was filled with quirky twists that uncovered the reasons why both Nicole and Wade acted and reacted the way they did and in the end it left one with a smile at how the HEA worked out for the couple. The first book in the Hot Cowboy Nights series by Victoria Vane, this is her first contemporary. I will preface this review by saying that I do not usually read contemporary romances, however, if I enjoy an author’s voice I am more than wiling to give it a chance. This book surprised me in many good ways. I also have never read a cowboy romance and they’re not my go-to hero in the least. Though I will always prefer Vane’s historicals—in fact, her award-winning Devil DeVere series hooked me—this is an enjoyable, sweet, and sexy story. Wade Knowlton is a hardworking attorney who has endured past romantic heartbreak. He also struggles to be a good son and brother to his loving family who are on the verge of bankruptcy with their cattle ranch. He’s kind, honest, and protective. He has “old-fashioned manners” and is sexy as hell. So when he meets Nicole Powell, a pretty southern belle from Georgia on an errand in Montana to settle her wayward late father’s estate and funeral, he feels an immediate attraction and desire to help her. She is overwhelmed and has the worst run of bad luck while traveling so he takes care of everything just like a knight in shining armor.  Which Nicole thinks is just too good to be true. She has been hurt too many times before by picking the wrong guys and she’s just tired and distrustful. Especially of cowboys. “In her experience, cowboys were notoriously unreliable, generally unfaithful, and rarely capable of settling at all.” Wade breaks down her barriers as they quickly fall in lust and love. Their verbal sparring is almost a little too slick but it’s also sassy and fun. Will Nicole be able to trust another man after so many have let her down? Nicole is a strong woman who has been on her own since she was seventeen and doesn’t want to depend on any man, even one who wants to help her. So she pushes him away. I love how Wade is the one who is sure of Nicole, even if she isn’t. It’s refreshing to see a hero take charge of what he wants and go after it. But he also knows when to back down and give her the space she needs to decide for herself. Vane writes clearly and engagingly. There is an authenticity in her characters’ feelings and the realism of the seemingly everyday mundane things: lost flights, wallets, and hearts. It’s obvious that a lot of research went into this story: about cattle ranching, estates and land rights’ legalities, and the current financial climate in Montana. In fact, Vane’s notes at the end of all her stories are just as interesting to read as the stories themselves. My one quibble with the story is a personal one. As an eco-conscious vegan and minimalist, the political talk about the state of the economy in Montana rankled. But, to be honest, I can see their point of view: “Damned vegan tree-huggers will destroy our entire state economy.” There is also a lot of raunchy humor and wordplay in this romance that made me smile and laugh. “She then reminded herself how often she’d been disappointed by cowboys in bed—far more often than not. Kinda like anticipating a full night of rodeo only to have it end with the eight-second ride.” The sex here is scorching and frequent. But it’s not just sex. There is a breathless whirlwind romance and it’s almost a fairy tale ending for Nicole when she gains both freedom and a sweetheart in this entertaining and fast-paced romance.

PULL THE FIRE ALARM & STOCK UP ON FIRE EXTINGUISHERS FOR THIS STEAMY ROMANCE! Nikki Powell is in HADES while flying in this tin can that feels like it's either going to crash or run out of gas! Why, oh why, is she doing this to herself, for a dead dad who left her high & dry at the age of 7. Nikki only has 3 days until she must get back to her slave driving boss in Georgia, so she hopes that her dad left her no surprises. When her tiny can lands, she just wants to get off ASAP, struggles with her new suitcase purse & her cell, tampons & makeup make a escape into the aisle. Now she has to wait to get off, dashes to her next gate, told she was on double stand by (what the HADES is that) & has a complete & totally ugly CRY moment, right in front of this yummy boots wearing COWBOY! I really HATE COWBOYS, their cheating a$$es & why is he winking at me? Wade Knowlton is burning both ends with being a lawyer during the week & ranch hand at The Flying K, the family ranch, ever weekend & spare minute. The ranch is crushing his wallet & his last nerve, but his pig headed & "I DON'T COMPROMISE" big brother, Dirk, won't sell. So Wade is sitting at the airport on his way back from the NOT SELLING the ranch, when Ms. Hot A$$ has a melt down at the ticket counter. His mom raised him right, so he gives up his plane seat to Hot A$$, winks at her sexiness & is going to driving to Virginia City! Fates are so working for these 2 crazy kids, with 1 wiped out & stress heroine with a killer a$$ who lost her wallet, so the cell phone Gods (Gods because cell coverage in Montana sucks) let her reach out & touch the lawyer who loves a damsels in distress. Wade tells this mysterious damsel he is on the road, will pick her up & Nikki is so shocked & relieved, so she camps out at the hotel that WON'T give her a room. Wade looks at this gorgeous sleeping beauty, shocked that it's Hot A$$ & Nikki's hormones got into hyper drive. Wade & Nikki go on a hell of a ride thru Montana with white hot lust reaching nuclear meltdown with just 1 kiss. They get to his office in Virginia City, hook Nikki up with a computer to get a new license, because she can't do anything legal without an ID, go to see her dad in the morgue & hit a bar for Nikki to consume tequila! Nikki wakes up dresses but alone at his family ranch & her heart falls hard as he holds her hair, as she puked up the night before. She meets his family which has a "chip the size of Montana on his shoulder" brother, a frail dad & a "welcome sunshine" mom. Their sexually tension could & does light up Montana on a cold wintery night. Wade moves his hands on her body like he is reading braille, believes a woman should always come first & Nikki can't get enough of his wicked & spicy kisses & his utterly decadent caresses that melt her panties & sending burst of ecstasy to her pleasure center! The sex is great, but is it enough to build on. Will Nikki sees that her cowboy with Slow Hands is the one? Can Wade prove that his love is worth the risk? What did her father leave her? How will they be together when she lives in Georgia? Can I kick Dirk's chip off his shoulder via his bootie? Ms. Vane's books just get batter & better. This romance had her hilariousness in it & made me smile, giggle & hyperventilate from laughter. Nikki is a heroine who has been burned by all men including her dad & developed a moat, trench & drawbridge around her heart. She needed a knight to rescue her damselness! Wade is an old fashioned man raised right by his mama & is a modern knight in cowboy's boots & hat. Wade uses every weapon in his arsenal (he has many yummy & huge weapons) to lay siege to her heart. Ms. Vane included her amazing hilariousness with some one of a kind 1 liners like, "come to Jesus meeting," "gastronomic adventure," my mistakes have first & last names" & so many others. Now since it's a romance let's chat about sex, shall we. I highly recommend FLAME RESISTANT UNDIES & many FIRE EXTINGUISHERS before you read this book because it contains a tsunami of hotness, sexiness & sexually energy that made my pleasure side of my brain refresh, reset & reboot more than once. Ms. Vane has created a Sexy Montana Cowboy world that made me pull out my SPARKLY PINK cowgirl boots & dream about yummy Cowboys in tight Wranglers who melt my knees with kisses & have panties dropping caresses! Now this book COSMOS will be revisited many, many, many times because COWBOYSR4PATTY! Oh, just a little tip I learned from Nikki that I had to share, throngs chafe on horseback, so go commando! I must give Ms. Vane my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes for those steamy FLAME RESISTANT UNDIES worthy romance! NetGalley ARC given for my honest review.

When her estranged father passed away, Nikki felt it was her obligation to say her final goodbye. Now she only has 3 days leave from her lousy job to wrap up a lifetime's worth of regret since her father left. He'd tried to make things right with her. Why hadn't she given him a chance before it was too late? Now she's having airline problems and can't get her connecting flight out. To top it all off, an arrogant cowboy is a fellow passenger who thinks he's God's gift to women. A few minutes later the gate clerk called her name and she realized that arrogant cowboy she'd been disgusted with had given up his seat for her. Little did she know, she'd meet up with that cocky cowboy again…Wade doesn't know it either, but he's about to be pleasantly surprised! Slow Hand is phenomenal! Can a cowboy get any hotter?! Absolutely NOT! The hero is impressive with his sexy swagger, his protective manner, and his sense of honor. Ms. Vane gives us a hero every woman loves. Her sex scenes will heat you right up, ready to take on the heroine so you can have her man (lol)! Ms. Vane's stories show her individuality and the fact that she's a seasoned author. She can keep me glued to each and every page with her descriptive words and enchanting characters. Slow Hand is one of the best cowboy romances I've read in a very long time. It's delightfully sexy and wickedly satisfying. It's an awesome start to what promises to be one hot series! I've got some seriously intense anticipation going on here waiting for the next book in the series! Slow Hand is a MUST READ! 5 Stars!

"Does misfortune follow you everywhere, Miz Powell?" "Not normally," She pursed the lips that he found increasingly fascinating. "Why do you ask?" "Because I'm thinking it might be prudent for me to increase my insurance before I drive you anywhere." SLOW HAND by Victoria Vane is the first book in her new Hot Cowboy Nights series. This was the second book that I've read by Victoria. I had previously read THE SHEIK RETOLD, her excellent re-telling of E.M. Hulls' THE SHEIK, and absolutely inhaled it. SLOW HAND marks Victoria's first foray into contemporary western romance. It is the story of Wade Knowlton, a driven lawyer with reluctant ties to his family's Montana ranch, and Nicole "Nikki" Powell, a southern "peach" who has sworn off cowboys after being burned too many times. Vane’s descriptions are the type that make the entire story easy to picture.  Vane really brings her world to life.  She gives you a beautiful view of Montana and a real look at ranch life, both from the point of those who love it and those who feel trapped by it.  And this is just the backdrop for her emotional and revealing story that had me on my toes.   The main characters in this novel were extremely well developed.  I really enjoyed how we got to know their pasts gradually.  Each piece of information gives you a deeper understanding as to the conflict in this novel.  The female lead’s conflicting emotions, beliefs, and prejudices are presented in such a manner that the emotions jump out of the pages of this novel.  I simultaneously felt empathy for her, jealousy of what she had, and the need to yell at her for walking away.  The male lead was an entirely different story.  His attempts to rectify the past and to finally take what he wants, all the while being the perfect gentleman, make him the type you can’t help but fall in love with.  The supporting cast, although small, was quite well developed and rounded out this story quite well.  The conflict and support that they provided really brought this town to life. This was definitely an enjoyable read.  Vane had my emotions and my heart tied up throughout.  I’d definitely recommend it to those who enjoy a good romance.  Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Slow Hand was my first book by Victoria Vane, and now I’m hooked. Her writing style was fluid, she described the settings so well that I could picture them perfectly, the voices of her characters showed character development, they had realistic and often hilarious dialogues, and they were sufficiently put through the emotional wringer and allowed the necessary room to “find themselves”. I liked Nikki, but my feelings for her throughout the story would end up looking like a sinus curve. In the beginning, I liked her vulnerability and seeing her at her lowest point. I was able to get a good feel for her character – cynical, lonely, crappy job, no father, estranged from her mother and a screw up for a sister. There was no mention of any friends or close ties to anyone or anything where she called home. In her personal life, she’d made numerous mistakes, six in total according to her. The last one was the most devastating. She’d been dating Clint for six months before she found out he had a wife and kids. When she met Wade, she acknowledged their instant and intense connection and chemistry, but learning to trust him ended up being the major hurdle of this story. Wade. Sigh. I want him in the worst way. That charmingly sexy cowboy lawyer was pretty much the perfect male specimen. While he’d been dealt his fair share of disappointment in his love life, which also damaged his relationship with his brother Dirk, he did want to fall in love again and settle down. I loved his cheeky side the most. He was so good at making her feel at ease, lowering her defenses and making her laugh. This couple had undeniable chemistry, and not all of it was purely sexual. Nikki managed to open up to Wade about her past, and when she didn’t think she needed comfort, he was always there for her. There were a few sexy times before their first time at the halfway point. Despite the amazing sex they shared, Nikki was of two minds about where they were headed, and her fear lasted up until around the 91% point. Their last sex scene broke my heart because it underscored the hurt, anger and frustration they were both feeling. My heart broke for them in that moment because they were both at fault and responsible for the impossible ultimatum. I was frustrated with her, but I understood the importance of their separation for a few months. The indecision, the heartache, the realizations, were all worth the wait for the ending. The person who made the first move towards reconciliation was perfectly chosen and executed. I look forward to grabbing a copy for myself and eagerly await the next book in this series. *Complimentary copy provided via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review*
