This book is a collection of poems and song written by a man that was sexually abused as a child. This book is a book of hope, self-discovery, and overcoming the pain that he experienced. It's meant to be a collection for adults who have been through similar situations, and while i've never gone through this, I still got a lot from this book. His writing style is easy enough to understand, but yet still deep and powerful, and beautifully written. I read this book in one sitting, and a few times caught myself on the verge of tears, because this man is so strong and has such a great outlook dispite what he went through as a young child. I found it to be relateable but once again I haven't been through a similar situation but I could still find a connection within his writing, and think that just about any adult can find hope and peace in his writing. I also loved that he had a descriptive blurb after every song/poem, to further explain who/what/why it was written, or what he was experiencing during the time he wrote the poem. It gave me further understanding and insight into his emotional shell and found the book to be captivating and extremely powerful.
