A marriage begun in deception...
Julia Faircloth is used to managing the lives of her eccentric relatives, so when darkly compelling Lord Sebastian Trevarre arrives in Bath and proposes to her shy sister Sarah, she switches places with the bride to save her from what she imagines will be a shockingly carnal wedding night.

Against his better judgment, Sebastian can't resist consummating his accidental marriage to the most provoking, appealing woman he's ever known...and passions smolder as they continue to share a bed in his neglected, enchanting estate in Cornwall. Life there is turbulent, not least because Sebastian keeps many secrets. Will his reckless pursuits restore his fortune - or cost him the lady who holds his heart?

Step back in time to magical 1798 Cornwall, England, with Julia and Sebastian - and reunite with André and Devon Raveneau, as André discovers that his life and Sebastian's are inextricably linked.

About the Author

Cynthia Wright is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the two Rakes & Rebels series, 12 intertwining historical romances starring the irresistible Raveneau & Beauvisage families. She has also written beloved series set during the Renaissance and in the American West. Romantic Times Magazine hails Cynthia's novels as "Romance the way it was meant to be."

HIS MAKE-BELIEVE BRIDE, Cynthia's latest Raveneau Family release, is the story of Mouette Raveneau and Justin St. Briac, her first “older” couple, who come to their tempestuous relationship with plenty of baggage, defenses, and hidden longings. Justin, the untamable brother of Gabriel St. Briac, also appeared in THE SECRET OF LOVE. Mouette is the adult daughter of André & Devon Raveneau, from SILVER STORM.

Cynthia lives in northern California. She enjoys riding a tandem bike and taking road trips in an airstream trailer with her Colombian-born husband, Alvaro & their corgi, Watson. She is also devoted to her two adorable grandsons who live nearby.

I love Cynthia Wrights books!!! Her writing is wonderfully descriptive and transports you to the area, let's you feel  the wind on your face and ties you emotionally to the characters. Sebastian and Julia are so delightful, they have been hurt by their families and struggle to trust and accept love. Trust is such a fragile thing an so easily broken. Watching these two work together to create a life for each other and with each other is just wonderful. Trusting each other, working through the rubble left them and creating something beautiful. Andre and Devon Raveneau's story was the first book written by Cynthia that I read. Their story and relationship was so engaging and I fell in love with them. Being able to see them again and how they have grown together was delightful.  The ties between Andre and Sebastian made me cry. So unexpected and so we'll done. I love how the sea always has a prominent place in her books, such a wonderful and romantic place!!!! My hope is that everyone will love these books as I have! Happy reading!!!! Worth the time and money!!!

Cynthia Wright has been crafting compelling and interesting stories and characters for over 25 years! See is a master storyteller. I've read all her amazing books and Smuggler's Moon not only stands brilliantly in comparison, but opens the door to new adventures and possibilities. You know that feeling you get when you don't want the story to end? Smuggler's Moon shines on its own, bringing characters from the past that add not only depth and intrigue, but the perfect reason to read her other books in the Raveneau series. That way, the feeling doesn't have to end! If you've not discovered this truly talented writer before, now is your chance.

I was excited to be able to get an advance copy of Smuggler's Moon to read. I have been reading Cynthia Wright's books for over 30 years and am thrilled she is writing again. Sebastian and Julia's story is romantic and sexy. Sebastian doesn't disappoint as a gorgeous rogue whom Julia will have no chance but to fall hopelessly and happily in love with. Steamy love scenes and gorgeous settings abound. (Now, I need to add Cornwall to my travel list!) Meeting Andre and Devon again was like seeing old friends. Eagerly looking forward to book 2!

There are many books by this author..And this one I enjoyed reading, sometimes I could not put it down. except I had to go to sleep.. I have read many of this Author's stories. Check out The Raveneaus history, and followed this Family through the years. You will want to read all the other books. They have all the things you want in a book.. Love, mystery, intrigue, adventure. Buy the boxed set of 4 books, and you will have over 3,000 pages to read. You won't want to put them down. I Take my Nook, with me, and any chance I get to read it, at lunch, or waiting somewhere. I find the time to read.

This book is about 600 pages. I loved the leading characters, especially the male. He is alpha male extradonaire. The female was a little pushy. The romance was good but there could have been more of it. There is adventure and danger. This is the first book of the Cornwall series. Cythia Wright is a very good writer. I like series, but i also like a good look into their future!

ANOTHER FANTASTIC READ BY CYNTHIA WRIGHT! This book starts out rather sad, but ends on such a happy note. I wish their was an Epilogue though, because I didn't want to leave this couple. Only one couple appears, that we have met before, Andre and Devon, and what an enjoyable read to catch up with this couple. There are many surprises in this story, suspense, love that builds slow, passionate love making, good kind not the erotic kind. You will love all the main and secondary character's in this book. Ms. Wright has a way of writing that you feel you are part of the action taking place. This whole series is a wonderful read. Buy the bundle of Raveneau and Beauvisage boxed set. The books can stand alone, but you will want to read them in the order the author states, because both families go back and forth between the novels, that is so unique and cleaver, that you will add it to your re-read this for the future. It was a pleasure to meet Cynthia Wrights new characters and revisit some of my old favorites. She has a very special gift in describing the scenes so that you feel you are walking right along side of these characters. This story was a real pleasure to read, very nice love story with adventure and even a few mildly steamy love scenes. Very much looking forward to reading book 2 and all others in this series. Cynthia Wright never disappoints.

SMUGGLER'S MOON is one of Cynthia Wright's newer titles in the Rakes and Rebel series. It is the story of Sebastian Trevarre and Julia Faircloth, who are each dealing with their own set of demons. A hasty marriage of convenience, with Julia substituting as the bride, does not start out well. Julia adores Sebastian's estate in Cornwall, while he wants nothing more than to escape from there, never to return. As they are forced to find their way to happiness, they begin to learn about each other and to love. However, big secrets threaten to shatter their new-found love. Devon, André and the rest of the Raveneaus make appearances that eventually have far-reaching effects. I enjoyed Sebastian and Julia's story and loved the Cornwall setting. While the historical backdrop was not as prominent as in other stories, it was well done and did enhance the story. I delighted in the reappearance of the Raveneaus and the look inside their now mature relationship. While there are strong ties to Devon and André Raveneau, SMUGGLER'S MOON, stands well on its own. I am excited to delve into the next installment of the Rakes and Rebels series, THE SECRET OF LOVE, which tells the story of Sebastian's sister Isabella and his former “business” partner Gabriel St. Briac.

Love love love her characters and sooo love to visit earlier characters that appear in later books. This story was good but i think that previous books were best as far as adventure goes. Still, C.R. gets a 5-staar rating because she is Cynthia Wright!
