I need to start off by saying that this was an awesome story and I found it hard to put down. It was exciting and thought provoking. I can not wait to see if this is perhaps the beginning of a series, one can only hope. I can honestly say that I see a bright future for this young writer along side her mother. This story was full of just enough intrigue and action to leave you shocked and salivating for more. It was one surprise after another, making you almost wish that the story would never end. I for one was glued to this book every chance I got. I love books with strong female characters. This story was well written and highly entertaining. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good spy story, highlanders and strong female characters.

Combined writing of Victoria Roberts and C. A. Roberts this story was a joy to read. Annella Poley has spent her life as a assassin for the King. She has one goal find the man who killed her father. On her latest mission at court she's stopped at every turn by a mountain of a Scotsman Marcus Grant. She just can't seem to shake the man. If he doesn't stop she just might have to kill the man. Marcus can't shake the feeling that all is not as it seems with the pretty and infuriating French woman. Annella's life is about to be turned upside down. Everything she's know to be true will be reveled as false. I'm looking toward to reading more from this writing team.

What a story! It's a nice short one that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This one takes on twists and turns you don't see coming. I really liked Marcus. What's not to like he's a yummy kilt wearing highlander. Then you have Annella a very strong heroine. Right from the start this book had my attention because of Annella. She experience something no one should then she grows into a remarkable woman. She's an assassin so she can kick some butt. It was fun to watch her interact with Marcus. I liked the epilogue. It was a very nice touch.

This novella was fantastic! It was thrilling, and full of intrigue! With new secrets and surprises popping up on every page, I didn't want it to end. Annella is an amazing assassin, and seeing her handle herself was very exciting. I really liked that the men let her handle things pretty much on her own, because they knew she was capable. The story jumps right into the thick of things right from the beginning, and kept going. I thought it was the perfect quick read. I don't know they did it, but Victoria and C.A. Roberts gave me quite a few shocks in this book. I wasn't expecting a lot of things that happened, and I'm surprised that they did,. While some of those moments were heart-breaking, I admire that they held nothing back. It added to Annella's strength and made me love her even more. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

A great novella to start out a collaboration between two authors, I am excited to see where C.A. Roberts writing goes. Plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader intrigued throughout this novella. I am excited to see where this story takes us. The heroine is believable as a character who was raised to be an assaisn like her father. I love a good intrigue.

Snakes in the Garden by Victoria Roberts, & C. A. Roberts is an intriguing Historical Romance set in 1600's England. Simply put, WOW! What an exciting surprise! Annella Poley, an assassin for the Crown, whose father was murdered in front of her, at a Masquerade Party, in Venice, years before, is on her last mission, when another tragedy strikes. Marcus Grant, a Highland captain of the Grant clan, at the King's court, with his Laird, at the King's request. Annella is good at her job, full of secrets, deception, mistrust and aims to get her query. Marcus, is a brawny Highlander who would do anything to keep his Laird safe, including, finding out more about the mysterious lady, Annella. Together, they are a fiecesome, unbeatable couple. Fast paced, intriguing, compelling, emotionally charged, and full of surprises abound. Spies, secrets, assassins, murder, a bit of romance, mystery and suspense. Ms. Roberts has once again, written a tale that is very exciting, the characters are engaging, mysterious and intriguing. The storyline is unique, compelling and captivating. A mesmerizing tale! I could not stop turning pages. I would be remiss, not to mention, Ms. C.A. Roberts, co-author with Ms. Roberts, who should be congratuated as well, for a story well done! I hope to read more from this duo. Fantastic read! Fans of Historical Fiction with a touch of romance, exhilarating mysteries, and suspense on every page, will not be disappointed with, "Snakes in the Garden". A sweet tale! The only thing else I could say is...WOW, simply mesmerizing! Beautifully written and executed! Highly recommended! Received for an honest review from the author. I adored this book!!! It was special since Victoria teamed with her daughter, C.A. and it did not disappoint. A strong female character in any book I read is a definite plus…it adds to the drama and action throughout the book. The main character Annella witnesses the death of a loved one at an early age, and it affected her life’s path as an adult. Things don’t always seem to go her way, when the table are turned, but she rises above. I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it!!! Awesome job ladies!!!
