By the time bruce walked out of my salon on the first day meeting him I was so excited to read his book. From the very first sentence i was hooked and chapter by chapter I came to love that little boy and the crazy things he did. I respected his father and think his grandma was wonderful. The way he writes is so full of feeling and honesty he wasnt trying to hide anything. This book will be something that everyone can relate to. It was one of the few books I have read that can make my cry and then two sentences later make me laugh. When my son gets old enough he will have to read it. Along with the other book bruce plans to write. I am so happy i got the chance to not only read this but to talk to Bruce that day. You have to read this book. Its one of the best I have ever read.

I was very intrigued reading Snapshots from the very fist page to the last. I really related to the reasoning behind him writing this novel. I also liked the unique way in which this journey through his younger years was presented with humor and lessons learned. I felt so special as to have had the pleasure of personally meeting this author. He is truely as realistic as his novel.

IT'S A WALK THROUGH THE MEMORIES OF BEING A CHILD GROWING UP IN THE 50s. WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO PASS ON TO YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN A LITTLE BIT OF WHO YOU ARE. IT WILL SURVIVE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS OF MR. BLACKHURST'S FAMILY.

Growing up is hard to do,and some of the lesons in this book proves it.I found this book to very informative ,well written and funny. Every child that has a grandfather and wants to know how it used to be when he was growing up should read this book.It shows that disipline in the household is a good thing, and everybody needs to have guidence, especially the character of Ben,with his deviece mind and head strong personallity. The author has put some thought into this book to allow even a 3rd grader insight to what used to go on in times past. good luck Bruce I am looking forward to reading your next book to find out what happens to Ben as he grows up into the world.
