It has a preface by Jin Zhong, and an essay(Shock of Exile) by Song Di, an eminent poet and critic from Beijing, China. There are seven sections in this book, ranging from his early years in Harbin and Beijing, to his life in America. Jin Zhong is regarded as "the last poet in exile" and what he has written differs greatly from any other Chinese poets.

About the Author
Jin Zhong is the pen name of Jone Guo. He was born in Harbin, China , in 1962. He graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1989. He was a student activist in Beijing that spring and in 1991, he came to San Diego, California. Jin Zhong is a poet in exile, an artist, and a translator. He was the earliest translator of the Chinese poets like Duo Duo, Wang Jiaxin, Mo Fei, and Beiling. He also translated Anne Sexton, Brodsky.
