Overview

From the author of FEARLESS, the first in a new Dartmoor spinoff series:

Colin O'Donnell grew up in a lie, believing the man who raised him was his father, stirring up hell in the Louisiana bayous. A shocking revelation about his parentage led him to his half-brother...and his half-brother's motorcycle club. Now Colin is a prospect for the Lean Dogs MC, and he's just been transferred from his home town of New Orleans to Amarillo, Texas, where Vice President Candyman runs a tight ship, and holds tight secrets.

Jenny Snow has spent the last seven years in limbo, waiting for the pain to recede, when she unwittingly catches the eye of the club's newest prospect. She doesn't have the time or patience for a biker in her life. If only she can convince herself she truly believes that.

SNOW IN TEXAS is the first installment of Lauren Gilley's new Lean Dogs Legacy Series, and features characters first introduced in her Dartmoor Series. Be sure to look for the Dartmoor novels FEARLESS, PRICE OF ANGELS, HALF MY BLOOD, THE SKELETON KING, and SECONDHAND SMOKE. 4.5 Stars I just have to start off by saying, there is just something about the underdog that always appeals to me and Colin is most definitely the underdog. See the difference between him and his brother, even though him and Mercy look almost identical in appearance, is that for some reason the author tried to turn Mercy into some type of hero who was perfect at everything when in reality he isn't. He's just a lost little boy with humungous daddy issues and a penchant for young girls, at least one in particular...sorry that still gives me the skeevies...ewww. The only thing Mercy excels at is killing. Don't get me wrong I like his character to some degree, he's a warrior, a loyal one who takes care of his family, but his reality is just that...killing people and getting his woman - child bride pregnant..oh and being a huge goof ball! Colin with all his blustering, has so many flaws, yeah he's big like his brother but he's like a huge puppy. He needed direction, a drive, motivation, something that the animosity between brothers was not giving him but that Candy ended up giving him instead and that was Jenny Snow and a new band of brothers, within the same club of course! He didn't need to be a crazy psychotic killer or made out to be the perfect hero, because flaws and all, taking punches and hits and admitting to being scared and taking beatings, his Jenny loved him. He was so perfectly imperfect and once again it was stupid all the tension between him and Mercy, all unwarranted and uncalled for between both parties. At the end of everything there is nothing either of them could do to change the outcome so why bother with the dislike? I'm glad they ended up with sensible women who drilled it into their heads until finally they began to act as brothers should! I enjoyed this Texas chapter, Candyman sounds both sexy and ferocious! I can't wait to read his story, I hope to hell he finds somebody adequate and by adequate I mean someone in or around his age and not some fu*king young tender because I don't think my stomach can take another read like that and someone like Candy deserves a mature adult, not some young naive plaything. All the Texas brothers seem unique in some way or another, let's see what their stories are especially with this Agent Riley in the wind...sighs...it's always something! SR
