Snow White Lies is the first book in the Twisted Fairy Tale Confessions series by Sarah J. Pepper was a retelling of Snow White. I loved the premise behind this story with it's dark and twisted nature, but I found myself lost among dwarves and details most of the time. I wish the execution of it had been different. Don't let my opinion sway you though. There is lots of love out there for this book. So, maybe I just didn't get it. Snow White Lies by Sarah J. Pepper was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

***I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the goodreads group Lovers of Paranormal, or LOP.*** I'm all about the dark and twisty, so I knew I would enjoy this retelling of Snow White.  Snow is the type of person that I really should hate, but damn it if I'm not pulling for her throughout the story.  She reminds me of Serena in Gossip Girl from the wealth to the attention seeking tabloid stunts to portraying herself as far less intelligent and capable than she really is.  Just as with Serena, I find myself wondering why I love her character in spite of all this.  So many twists and turns in this one, and I was definitely not expecting the reveal at the end.  I hope more books follow this, because I want more of the badass version of Snow we got a taste of in the end!

I was offered an e-ARC of Snow White Lies, by Sarah J. Pepper, in exchange for an honest review. The description of this twist on the tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs sounded entirely fresh and intriguing to me. So, when I received it, I dug right in. In this version "Snow White" is a blogger, who is about to inherit a very large and extremely profitable business empire, left behind by her father. Snow White, also, seems to enjoy the media spotlight that most of her public antics bring about. Add in a mafia, comprised of seven dwarfs and their Queen, and the Huntsman, forced into their service and awaiting a certain "innocent's" arrival for three hundred years, and the plot weaves itself into an action-filled and complex storyline. The story took off at a fast and furious pace and, although it did feel like it took me awhile to "connect the dots", most of the connections do come together beautifully, at the end. A few of the connections did feel like a bit of a leap to me, but keeping in mind that this is a twist on a fairytale, no matter what time or place it was set in, helped me to rely on the suspension of disbelief that is vital to this type of story. I enjoyed Snow White Lies very much and am looking forward to reading more from Sarah J. Pepper.

Shannon’s Review Snow White Lies is the name of the Sarah J. Pepper’s newest book. Holy hell this book. When it says Snow lies its not exaggerating. This book is a great spin on the whole fairy tale story of Snow White and the seven dwarfs.  It starts out going back in time telling you about a nameless man, who you will eventually find out he has a name that Snow gives him later in the book. He is cursed with the ability to never age. He loses all his memories which he has a very hard time with throughout the book.  Snow appears in the present day and she has taken over her father’s business due to his death. She also takes over the illegal business he had as well. She is so not the same girl from the fairy tale you heard growing up. In fact she is even better in this version. She is a bada$$ and I loved every minute reading about her.  The seven dwarfs are there but in a totally different way that I was in awe of how good the author incorporated them. This book is a serious must read.  I am giving this book 5 hearts. GO. READ. IT.

Everyone knows the story of Snow White, right? Sweet, innocent girl, evil queen, 7 adorable dwarves, and of course the Huntsman. But what if everything want so "black and #white". What if Snow White wasn't so sweet or innocent? What if the dwarves weren't adorable? Or even good? Well that "what if" definitely gets answered in Sarah Pepper's modern day version of this not so modern fairy tale. I have never read a more original story in my life! Sarah Pepper takes Snow White flips it on it's head and completely makes it her own. This book is 100% original and unique. It's chock full of action, betrayal, black magic, and much much more. Snow White Lies is my first experience with Sarah Pepper's writing. I was left with a strong desire for a second helping. If you love a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you questioning everything and everyone, Snow White Lies is definitely the book for you!

And they say the original fairytales were grim? Welcome to Sarah J. Pepper’s twisted world of fairytales that will delight and entertain, but on an adult level, so get your fuzzy blankey, grab your favorite teddy bear and be prepared to slip into another version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs called Snow White Lies and ask yourself if you are too old for these tales anymore or if you are finally just the right age! Imagine the seven dwarfs NOT being Snow White’s protectors. Question the sanity and the loyalties of the Huntsman, and, Snow White? Whoa! She’s not an innocent, anymore! View flashbacks in time, the grit of a story gone askew and realize that Sarah J. Pepper has done it again! This is no lilting tale, but a rapid-fire trip through time, deceit, mystery and evil, a fairytale all grown up, with the bite of reality, the magic of fantasy and the talent of Sarah J. Pepper’s pen. Who would think a beautiful princess, a wicked step-mother and seven dwarfs could morph so easily and believably into their updated, edgy rebirths? Makes me wonder what else is hiding in Ms. Pepper’s fertile mind…

Snow White Lies is twisted. It is dark and immensely rewarding. When I first saw what this story was going to be about, I couldn’t wait to read it. Miss (Snow) White, is the heir to a substantially large company called White Industries. Her income doesn’t stop there though! She has other companies that make even more than White Industries does, allowing her to prosper as the most well-known face in the world who has connections with everyone, even the Seven. The Seven are a band of evil, corrupt, and malicious group of dwarves who work for the Queen. They have given their servitude and found an unnamed man who fits the bill of a perfect Harlot’s Assassin AKA the Huntsman, the number one target being Snow White. How many times can she escape the Queen and the Seven? What deeds must be done before she can no longer claim innocent anymore? My favorite character in this twisted novel is the Huntsman. He is driven by the Seven to do their dirty work, mainly assassinations and he is quite good at it. Every kill darkens his soul; however, he can’t escape the past with memories of a red-headed woman. This was his first kill, the one that bound him to the Seven for eternity. Throughout the decades, he has remained as vigilant and precise with his promise to extract his revenge. I also loved several other characters, including Miss Snow White herself since she portrays a great stride of independence. She is smart, devious and careful with her planning, even though the world may see her as a wealthy snob with no regard for anyone else. I can’t forget to mention that she is the world’s biggest smart-ass to boot. When death comes knocking on her door, she is torn between fear and passion. Fear for her life because she hasn’t yet accomplished her dire goal and passion for the one that was sent to bring her limp corpse back to the jealous Queen. In my opinion, Snow White Lies is a fantastic read. I recommend this story to those who enjoy reading mystery and paranormal suspense. I really enjoy how this author took the original Snow White fairy tale and warped it into her own intriguing version. I will look forward to more written by this author and will have to go back and read the other two in the series called Twisted Fairytale Confessions.

have read 2 other of this authors twisted fairy tale confessions and i loved both. Death of a Mad Hatter and Rapunzel Unhinged. This author has the amazing ability to take the core of a fairy tale that we all read and spin it completely on its head. You have all the core elements of the original story in this case, 7 dwarves, huntsman, the wicked queen and of course snow white. Those characters all will play their parts but in an entirely mixed up, deliciously different way that leaves you gasping and entranced with each page you read. Their was some steamy romance in here but nothing that made me go running for the hills, the violence is appropriate for an adult audience and gives the story that much more depth and intrigue. You done it again Sarah you made me love an adult romance fantasy way to go.

I have loved the other two Twisted Fairytale novels written by Sarah Pepper. I knew I'd end up loving this one as well because of the synopsis & overall idea of this novel. The cover! Ahh! The cover is amazing just like the other two in this series. So, so eye catching! I was super excited to get my hands on this baby! But.... This one is definitely my least favorite of the three. :( It started out with a bang, I was loving it, and then it just started to feel like I was walking in circles. It's hard to describe. The characters & overall world built in this novel, the twist on the old fashion 7 dwarfs, was great. It was dark, gritty, and full of action. The first bit when you're trying to learn who is who was a little difficult. It was a tiny bit hard to keep up with because so many characters were introduced so quickly which jumbled up my mind a little. I loved the Huntsman but would've loved to have seen more of him in the present and not so much in the past. I won't lie... I sort of skipped several flashbacks because I felt like the story wasn't moving in the present fast enough. I wanted to see more of the Huntsman & Snow White together. Just them interacting and not so much back and forth. I truly loved the dwarfs but I won't lie and say that they're easy to keep up with. LOL It's hard to remember and really create their identity within your imagination and hold it there when there are so many other characters bouncing around. I know of all of that sounds so negative... ack. I don't mean to be a total debbie-downer because at the end, I really did enjoy the novel overall. The pace of the novel picks back up near the last quarter and I didn't want to put it down. It sort of had highs & lows for me. I'll definitely continue to read anything else this author puts out. This one just didn't quite live up to my hype. Maybe that's my fault. I've loved the other two sooooo much that I just expected the same thing from this one. : / So overall, I liked it, not my favorite, but I did like it.

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. This is actually the first book I’ve read by Sarah J. Pepper and I wasn’t disappointed! I will definitely be checking out her other books. ;) This was such a unique concept. I loved the idea of taking a classic fairytale and spinning it into something different. I very much enjoyed this whole new twisted version that Pepper created. The story never let up from the beginning. I was constantly questioning what would happen next and who was to be trusted. It was a great read!

I love fairytales. Be them the Disney “kid” version or the Grimm brothers ‘dark’ version. Sarah J. Pepper has written an amazing Snow White fairytale that is dark in a great way. She has given new meaning and new twists to a story that we all know and love. The dwarves, the huntsman, and the setting are all different; a modern fairytale that is not a sappy love story. When I was little I always wanted to be a fairytale. This is not one that I would have wanted to be a part of but I loved reading about it. This will be one book that I will read again and again. I would recommend this book to any reader that would like to see the darker side of a fairytale. Don’t forget that this is not the only book in the Twisted Fairytale Confession series.

This is the first book I have read from this author and all I can say is WOW! I am a fan from now on! I love this story of Snow White a whole  lot better than the one I grew up with in my childhood.  This story brought so many emotions out of me. I would be almost crying for Snow White but some other times I wanted to smack her upside the head.  The dwarfs are not any dwarfs I know, they are bad but I like the bad dwarfs verses the original ones. The huntsman is  crazy! Put all these characters together and you have yourself a twisted, dark fairytale.  If you always wanted your fairytales a little bad, grab this book because you will enjoy it! I'd give it more stars if I could!

I love books like this. Books that take a fairytale that everyone knows and loves and gives it a modern update are so completely awesome. Snow White is not so innocent anymore, and the seven dwarves and the huntsman are completely different too. Snow White is a rich girl with a blog, and this is a very complicated but magical tale of mystery and deceit with a blog. I was into this book. Like, I didn’t eat and forgot to go to the bathroom for a few hours into this book. It was one of the freshest books I have read in a while. This tale is told through a series of flashbacks mixed in with present day. I thought the way the author did this was both intriguing and done very well. I was transported right along with the characters in the story and I have to say that this rarely happens. This book was extremely well-written and I applaud the author for writing a book that managed to retell an old fairytale but remain completely new at the same time. Bravo. I would highly recommend this book. I’m certain this will remain one of my favorite books this year. 5 stars. Reviewed by Sara Squared for Crystal’s Many Reviewers *Copy Provided for review*

This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review Wow! Sarah has done it AGAIN! I have always loved the darkness of a Grimm fairytale but what Sarah brings to the story in her dark and twisted imaginings is so much more! Here we have dwarfs that are not Snows allies but the Queens pawns and a Huntsman whose sanity is not his own.  While a big Fan of the original Snow white tale I was very excited to read this one. I even named my daughter after the original snow (Lilyanna) and Sarah for sure did not disappoint! I for sure hope my daughter doesn't turn out anything like Sarah's version however she was perfect for the book.  The book had none stop ACTION and was a edge of your seat page turner, the seven were a formidable force and I loved how Sarah turned 7 harmless dwarfs into such men to be feared. I for sure wouldn't want to meet them on the street or anywhere for that the huntsmen was different he was sexy and dangerous and you never knew if he was going to kiss you or kill you. It lent an aura of anticipation and suspense to the book.  Sarah is a mad genius when it comes to writing and the fairytale angle is a rare talent for her. Her collection of fairytale pieces is totally brilliant and I love them all! if you haven't gotten yours make sure you get yours today! Death of the Mad Hatter, Locks: Rapunzel Unleashed and now Snow White lies!

Absolutely amazing.  The old fairytale written for modern day. Loved it. A must read!
