Overview

Mariah Sullivan is a tattoo-wearing, bruise-covered, kick-ass roller derby girl who doesn't put up with people who mistreat others. Her fierce exterior masks a woman who is loving, compassionate and deeply loyal to those she loves.
Adam Barnett Jr. is a dentist like his father. He has come to Austin to take over his father's dental practice while he recuperates from an accident. The timing couldn't have worked better for Adam, who just broke off his wedding engagement to a woman he thought was perfect, both inside and out.
He meets Mariah at her regular dental appointment. She is interested, willing to put aside her normal reticence and give him a chance. Adam, however, assumes the worst about her, given her black eye and the bruises on her arm. He assumes that she is the victim of some form of abuse and he approaches her in an attempt to help her seek help. But Mariah, with assistance from Adam's father, has a thing or two to teach him about making assumptions. As they spend time together and get to know each other they find sex, friendship, and eventually love.

This was my first time reading this author and I thought this book was a very good read, pleasantly suprised. Interesting group of characters and great supporting cast. Enjoyed the growth of both main characters.

Loved the story...the book was funny, romantic, and a great read. There is a lesson learned that goes to prove why people should not judge a book by its cover or make assumptions because majority of the time it will be the wrong one. I like how Mariah got her revenge on Adam Jr...it was hilarious!!

I absolutely love this story! This was a love story with two very different people who've both been hurt by people's perceptions of them. It's quite refreshing to have a story that is both sexy and tells the story in a way that's not overly vulgar. I hope the writer does a story on the main character's brother (Mariah's brother Joshua) and sister (Adam's sister Yvette). There seems to be some possible heat there. I really enjoyed the possibility of being total opposites and what it brings to a relationship. A seriously good read!

Was I the only one who thought Adam was a bit of a douge?? I have never read a romance book where I couldn't stand the male lead. It took me 3 weeks to get through this book. The main characters worked my nerves so bad I had to stop and read other books. I hate not knowing the end so I kept coming back. I wouldn't recommend this book at all!!

Really cute. Very original, and great storyline. A great teaching in once again: Never judge a book by it's cover. Made me want to join a roller derby team!!!
