So Good (An Alpha Dogs Novel) by Nicola Rendell
Prompted by mounting changes and mounting confusion in constitutional evidence law and by the new restyling of the Federal Rules of Evidence, this edition presents the familiar student-friendly textbook, now with these improvements:
- Presents and digests the latest Confrontation Clause caselaw, including Williams v. Illinois, 132 S. Ct. 2221 (2012);
- Fully incorporates the restyled Federal Rules of Evidence;
- Surveys the latest scholarship and caselaw to assess the current validity of a range of forensic sciences;
- Presents new cases and problems throughout, while carefully retaining tried-and-true teaching tools, however old, that have shown no sign of wear.
As with past editions, this new text addresses the intricacies of evidentiary law in a way students will find both engaging and intellectually compelling. The casebook and accompanying rulebook are wholly integrated, with paginated cross-references that encourage students to consult legislative history.

5 SO GOOD STARS!!! This is a fun, sweet, sexy and best friends to lovers story. Wow, I loved Max, he is the perfect hero hot, sexy, sweet, smart, good in the bedroom and so caring. Rosie is beautiful, sweet, funny and perfect for Max. These two have such cute bantering and are fun seeing their story play out. Now add a cute little dog and a cranky cat to the story and you have PERFECTION. This is one story you will not want to miss, it is SO GOOD!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
So Good by Nicola Rendell is soooooo much more than good...it's UNBELIEVABLY good!!! This is Nicola's 4th book but, HOLY MOLY, you would think it was her 100th... Rosie Madden and Max Doyle have been friends for YEARS! Not just friends...BEST friends! The kind of friends that have no secrets, that know every little thing about you, that love and support you through ALL of life's ups and downs, that have your back in every situation no matter what! And then, something happens to change the whole dynamic...seeing your BEST friend in a moment that most friends of the opposite sex rarely ever see (naked and unaware) And once Max sees Rosie in all her glory, he can't think of her as JUST a friend... The off-the-charts sexual chemistry between these two had me swooning, HARD, while at the same time the love between them had my heart sighing with satisfaction. And the banter...the truly funny banter and back-and-forth between them had me laughing out loud! This friends-to-lovers romance is EPIC, totally engrossing and I never wanted it to end!! I LOVED everything about this book...the TOTALLY hot Alpha that Max turned out to be, the intense love that JUMPS off the pages, the incredibly sweet, tender moments right alongside the buildup to the INSANELY hot, panty-melting sex scenes! This is, BY FAR, my fave book from Nicola Rendell who just keeps getting better and better with every single book she writes!! I can't wait for the next book from her...she is a DEFINITE auto-one-click author and THIS book is a definite MUST READ!!!
4.5 Alpha Dog Stars! I really adored this delightful, friends to lovers romance. It was funny, quirky, sweet and very sexy! Max and Rosie have been best friends since middle school. They knew each other so well, they finished each other's sentences, and were each other's emergency contacts. Max, the sexy carpenter, is all alpha, fierce protector, loyal, and so very sweet. Rosie is beautiful, smart, funny and loves to ballbust. When Max accidentally sees Rosie naked, it awakens something he has tried to ignore. He has only ever had eyes for Rosie and he was going to finally make her his. Rosie is helpless to deny the chemistry she and Max have. His sweep-me-off-my-feet kiss, has her desperate to never lose the one man who anchors her, being her rock and compass. But turning Max down is impossible. Max unleashes a wild side in Rosie that she knows is reserved only for him. They are so perfect together. Their banter is fun and flirty, they see perfection in each others quirks and their chemistry is explosive. They live in small town Maine with interesting residents, a sweet little puppy named cupcake, and a grumpy cat named Julia Caesar, who all add to the fun and emotion of this story. There were so many laugh out loud moments, along with some very touching, heartwarming and passionate moments as well. This is a great start to the new Alpha Dogs series and I am looking forward to more!
So Good is book one in the brand new series, Alpha Dogs by Nicola Rendell. Nicola has quickly become one of my very favorite authors. This book…the only way I can think of to put it into words is that it is “everything.” It checked off every single thing on my mental list of what makes a book great. I laughed out loud (at inappropriate moments.) I sighed, I swooned, it has adorable animals, it’s sexy as heck. I could go on and on. Nicola has the most adorable pets in this book. Just gaze at the cover for a hint. Even if you don’t love pets in books, gaze at the cover anyway. Max Doyle and Rosie Madden have been best friends for twenty years. They do everything together, they are each other’s emergency contacts. Rosie has inherited her grandmother’s home after she passed away. To say the house needs work would be a huge understatement. It is falling apart. Max is a carpenter by trade and is helping Rosie save money by working on the house for her. He was on the roof replacing shingles when he just happened to glance down through the sky light in the bedroom and saw Rosie naked. It’s the moment when everything changed, when the light came on, when he realized that Rosie wasn’t just his best friend, that she was everything to him. Rosie couldn’t help but notice that Max was acting strangely. That night after an internet date gone bad, she and Max have a few drinks, play some pool, and Max proceeds to change the nature of their relationship forever with a panty melting kiss. Let me just say that Max goes all in from the start. He is most definitely an alpha. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. This man and the things he says. He adds a new definition to the term, swoon. He knew Rosie was the one for him and he showed her in every way possible, every…single…way! “How can anything feel so good? How can anybody be so amazing to me?” “You’re the amazing one, Rosie. I’m just here worshiping at the alter.” Now, lets talk pets. Along with the house, Rosie inherited her Grandmother’s cat. Julia Caesar is a senior, overweight, cat with a Spam addiction and some serious attitude. Her relationship with Rosie is a work in progress as Rosie tries to wean her off processed meats. Then there is Cupcake. Cupcake is a Chihuahua mix that Max rescues and falls in love with. This little dog basically steals the entire book. She is adorable. She could melt glaciers with her adorableness. And let’s just say that she instantly had Max wrapped right around her little paw. Together Max and Rosie burn up the pages. Rosie is a sweet children’s book illustrator. But Max brings out another side of her. A dirty talking, sexy confidence she didn’t know was there. “You look so sweet. But you’re not.” “Not with you.” After a couple of short hick-ups, Max and Rosie both realize that their love for one another has been there all along. They just didn’t see it. But there are a couple of other factors getting in their way of complete bliss. First, the fact that Julia Caesar looks like she wants to eat little Cupcake. And then there’s the ill timed dream job. But when true love like their’s happens, there has to be a way, doesn’t there? “It was because of her. Because for the first time, things were starting to make sense. My place in everything made sense. She made sense of the world for me. She gave me somewhere to belong, something to protect. The meaning of life? I’d found it.”
5 - "It was always you." Stars! So Good is the first book I have read by Nicola Rendell, but having seen nothing but positive reviews for her previous books, I had no hesitation in diving right in. This book literally emulates in title, in that is is Sooooo Good I absolutely adored Rosie and Max’s best friends to lovers story. He was my rock. He was my compass. Our friendship was my anchor. Low drama, high entertainment, plenty of laughs, lots of sexy times, it was just a really well written enjoyable story. Not my best friend-my ducking fantasy. Told from dual POV, you get to see both sides of the story as their relationship morphs from one thing to another, add into the mix a cute dog; Cupcake and a cantankerous old cat; Julia Caesar and there wasn’t a chapter where something outrageously funny didn’t happen. "I want things to go back to the way they were. Yesterday. When everything made sense…" "There’s no ducking way that’s going to happen." The author gave really good guy POV as well, something that some authors struggle to do. Max epitomized the perfect guy, and I really liked Rosie too, the pair of them together were just cuteness personified, with a side of hot and sexy thrown in. "Cool it, hot stuff." Just pure reading pleasure. I will absolutely be reading more from this author in the future.
