So I did book one on audio and to this day it’s still one of my favorites. And I do find I have ‘only audio’ authors. And this one may be one of them, because I found it very difficult to get into the groove of this book/story. And with it being over 330 pages on my ereader count it was hard going. My two big issues was I couldn’t get a connection with Noah, too spoiled, and to me if he was supposed to be an ex-military well, never saw that angel either. I loved Drew in book one, that shy, dry humor and I kept wanting to see it but for some reason it never really came over in this one. Or maybe by time it did, the whole thing had jumped the shark. Second issue for me the book started confusing, I found we got too much back story, almost like it was page filler for no reason. None of it made a difference to the end result and I think that was most of my problem I kept wanting it to tie together and it never did. So I kept drifting. Also all the one liners, puns, hell, we even had punned our way through the sex. However, when these two finally decided that hey, maybe we do get along and maybe we will talk to each other, the humor, one liners and easy banter was mostly entertaining. And of course the sex was smoking hot. (once you got past the puns) (“You licensed to Drive that thing?”) OMG yes, really that happened. But, when I enjoyed reconnecting with the old characters, and reading about Mac and Drew more we’ve a problem. I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review by Chrystal Many reviewers.
