About the Author

Kenneth and Mary Gergen are major contributors to
the dialogues on social construction. Their writings,
speeches and workshops are honored throughout the
world. Kenneth Gergen is the Mustin Professor of
Psychology at Swarthmore College, and the
President of the Taos Institute. He is also an Affiliate
Professor at Tilburg University and an Honorary
Professor at the University of Buenos Aires. Among
his major contributions to social construction are Realities and
Relationships (Harvard University Press, 1994), An Invitation to
Social Construction (Sage, 1999), and Social Construction in
Context (Sage, 2002). Prof. Gergen is the recipient of many honors,
including fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the
Fulbright Foundation, and the Alexander Humboldt Foundation, and
honorary degrees from Tilburg University and Saybrook Institute.
