Overview

From sisters dancing in an art festival in search of the perfect garden bench to Frienemies speckled with pigeon shit, "Soliloquy: Beyond Town Limits" progresses through the hidden realms of child molesting, and animal hoarding. We coast the Midwest backroads through every momʼs nightmare of a lost child, and the drama of "fifty shades of ordinary." A verbal nightcap awaits the reader at the end of the book with two lesbians and a cat, and a psychic in a red neck town. Family dynamics, the many dimensions of friendship, the traumas of the young, and the resignation of old age – all find voices in this anthology

About the Author

Dene Hellman has written four books in addition to two poetry books with Ann O’Dell. Brought up in the Midwest, she has lived in North Carolina for three decades. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, she has written and published in numerous genres, including a novel (The Ninety-Ninth Reunion), a memoir (The People Under the House), a book of short stories (A House for Her), and a book of contemporary comment (A Broken Hip Episode). She raised four daughters, which is prime experience for writing about women.

Ann O'Dell is a National Psychic Advisor and Author of "Gardens of the Sisterhood." As an empathic consultant 30 years, she hosts a Spiritual Advice podcast for Achieve Radio TV. From traveling in a Volkswagon hippie van to working in a packing house as a single Mom to performing as a musician in Iowa, she knows one thing for sure. Location is like wearing an outfit. No matter how beautiful or ugly our environment, all women want love, respect, and to be strong enough to handle a crisis. From this, Ann's stories are born. Soliloquy:Beyond Town limits is a delightful book. I savored each story and recognized many familiar relationship experiences. No one’s life runs smoothly but we are resilient. The authors are great story tellers and have lived rich full lives to share.
