A solid "down to earth" second chance read filled with lots of drama, angst, love, rekindled friendships and a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

How do you find strength when the world crumbles around you? Delaney has yet to figure out the answer to that question. Perhaps fate and confronting her past will provide the answers. Something Old is a second chance romance that is insightful, delightful and emotional. Ethan and Delaney allowed misunderstandings, betrayals and pride to destroy their love song. Will a wedding weekend give them the chance to rekindle their dance of love?

I really enjoyed "Something Old" by Megan Ryder. This is the first book in her new series and tells the story of second chance romances during the week of the wedding of a college friend. Each book will follow a different bridesmaid in their quest of their happily ever after. This story wasn't what I was expecting and I loved it right from the beginning. The characters were unique and very well written, you couldn't help but want to see how things would end up - cheering them along the way. Great series for fans of the contemporary romance genre, would recommend this series to anyone looking for a fun, quick read. Happy Reading...enjoy! I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed learning about who Ethan and Delaney are now. There were a lot of factors that drove them apart five years ago. They are different, stronger people now.

I did like the story for the most part. I didn't care for Delaney much. She had no backbone. I understand the first time she left Ethan. She was young and didn't know how to handle things but she's older now. She should have learned to fight.

STORY-LINE SOMETHING OLD BY MEGAN RYDER Delaney Winters' life fell apart five-years-ago; she lost everything she held dear. After her father's arrested as a criminal mastermind behind a Ponzi scheme, she lost her life style, social standing, wealth, home, and the love of her life, Ethan Van Owen. She never expected to see Ethan again. She has done her best to forge a new life very different from her former high society life. Hiding away in the bowels of the museum where she works Delaney finds Caroline, her best friend after college and before the implosion of her life, sitting across from her. Five years later, bride-to-be Carolyn's determined to bring her 3 friends and incidentally her bridesmaids back together again, heal old wounds, and play matchmaker. Fireworks are in store for the week Caroline has reserved on their favorite island. She's determined every one will be as happy as she is with her love. However, she has not taken in account the volatile emotions, old wounds, and history involved. My review of Something Old follows. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT: Megan Ryder created a romance in which the emotions roll from the beginning pages. Filled with guilt, insecurity, vanity, and a host of other emotions, Something Old holds the reader's attention. Watching Ethan and Delaney try to mend and move forward was heart breaking at times. Would they ever get it right and come together as a unite? Sorry, you will have to the read the book. Ryder's writing's clear and easy to follow as the reader becomes involved in the lives of her characters. She gives us a look into high society, where appearance is everything; and I found it an ugly place. With few values and less compassion for their fellow-man, I was amazed they did not scratch each others eyes out; actually nails were not needed for this bunch, as words worked very well. However, bridesmaids, Ethan, and Delaney grew progressively throughout the book until they became people I could befriend. I was cheering for Delaney in hopes she would come to realize Ethan deserved the chance to know the truth and make his own decisions. The story-line and plotting was very good and the pace was smooth and steady; I was surprised by the twists in the plot. All good stories have a good villain and Ryder created several for this emotional story. Between Ethan's father and his step-mother I didn't know who to shake first. I wanted to shake them until their eyes rolled; snobs, manipulative, greedy, with few values except what wealth can provide, they were easy to dislike. In the same token, as the bridesmaids grew in the story and took a look at themselves, they were able to come together again as friends and sisters of the spirit. In concluding my review of Something Old, I found a solid story-line with well-developed characters and smooth pacing. This book may not be everyone as Something Old has strong love scenes, they are not erotic, however they are intense and hot. Something Old is the first book in this new series. I love second chance romance stories so I was definitely intrigued by the blurb. There were so many ups and downs in this story. **3.5 Stars** Delaney and Ethan were engaged five years ago but then scandal broke and Delaney pulled away from everyone close to her. Now she is the maid of honor for Caroline's wedding and the bride is determined to make sure all of her bridesmaids are as happy in love as she is. Her first target couple is Delaney and Ethan. When Delaney walked away, there was no closure for anyone who was hurt by her family's scandal. This story was a start for amends to be made and relationships to be repaired. At times, I felt like I wasn't connected to Delaney at all; she was distant and standoffish. While this normally would bother me in a story, I felt like this is what Ethan must feel with her and it helped connect me more with him. This is definitely a story of how the mighty have fallen and there's always a mean girl waiting in the wings. I did find myself wishing that both Ethan and Delaney would have more trust in each other and lean on each other more but overall I really liked them. Once they had an actual conversation with each other, they really were perfect together. I'm really looking forward to what Caroline has up her sleeve for the next couple. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

Wow! What an emotional ride! Something Old has it all! Love, passion, deceit, bitchy bride's maids, vindictive step mothers, and high society drama. I loved the pull and connection between Ethan and Delaney. A great story about learning to trust and becoming stronger. Can't wait for the rest of the series!
