Something So Irresistible by Natasha Madison

Max Horton

They call me an outcast like it's a bad thing.

An asshole byproduct of a shitty upbringing. I don't care about anything except myself and my little sister.

I will always protect what’s mine.

With one year left on my hockey contract I'm keeping my head down and my eyes on the goal.

A collision, with her, changes my entire existence.

Allison Grant

Never fall in love with a sports star. That's what my stepfather always said. He told me athletes are complicated and moody—that the higher their paycheck, the lower their morals.

As public relations for the New York Stingers I know exactly what he means, but I can’t seem to say no to a friendship with one beautiful, damaged man.

What started out as hate turned into something else.

We tried to stay away, to keep our distance, but the pull was too strong.

Something forbidden turned into something so irresistible.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is book 3 in a series and I have read all of them. Each one is super terrific and I would suggest reading in order as events that happen are important for the entire series. Book 1"Something So Right" features Cooper and Parker. Parker is a single mom of two children, Allison and Matthew. Book 2 "Something So Perfect" is Matthew's story and he is a hot hockey player and his match is his bosses daughter, Karrie. Book 3"Something So Irrestible" is 7 years after book 2 and features Allison's story. She is matched with Max, who did something terrible to Matthew in book 2. This book does NOT stand alone. You can miss book 1 and still understand this book BUT you must read Book 2 first. It introduces the characters and also you find out what Max has done, which is a BIG part of this books storyline. I have loved all the books in the series. The author is an amazing storyteller and she creates these characters I fall in love with. All of the books open up with a future scene and then goes into the past in Chapter one to explain how we got there. I really LOVE this way of storytelling. I felt this book was super romantic. It starts out where Allison and Max HATE each other with a passion. And she has good reasons to hate him. Max understands that. He is a man who understands that he did a terrible thing but he also knows he can never really make it up. What he does do is move on and Allison is a constant reminder of what he did and so the two have a huge hate relationship at first. Until Allison meets Max's sister and sees that he has some good in him and he realizes that he has to let the past go. That's when I fell hard for this story because Max is SO romantic. He is sweet too but he really was so romantic and that is what makes this book so terrific.

Natasha Madison’s scores a hat trick with the third book in the Something So series, SOMETHING SO IRRESISTIBLE. I loved Max Horton’s and Allison Grant’s story. Allison is the daughter of Parker Grant and Cooper Stone (book one), and the sister of Matthew Grant (book two). Max is Mathew’s teammate and sort of nemesis. The story takes place a few years after book two. This contemporary hockey romance is suitable for adult audiences. I appreciate when an author can sway your original opinion of a character. I did not like Max in book two. I adored him in book three. I enjoyed learning his back story. He grew up a lot. He regretted his past mistakes, especially where Mathew was concerned. We first met Allison when she was a little girl. She is now twenty-three and working as the New York Stingers Public Relations Representative. Initially, Alison and Max cannot stand each other, which is understandable due to Max and Mathew's history. I love that they call a truce, becoming friends. They have fabulous chemistry. They make each other better people. I enjoyed the dynamics between all the characters within the series. I like that the story was told from both Allison’s and Max’s point of views. The plot was interesting and carefully thought out. The story was skillfully written and exciting from start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I was not a fan of Max...especially after the way he was in Matthew and Karrie's book. When I learned that he was getting a book next I thought there was no way she could redeem that big pompous jerk. There was absolutely no way in hell. I went into reading this book swearing up and down that I wasn't gonna like him and there was definitely not going to be any swooning over that jerk. Sigh I was so completely wrong. I fell for Mad Max and hard. He had his moments of being a jerk but the times he was sweet...lord have mercy was he ever ::swoon:: Allison had just landed the job of a lifetime being the PR girl for the Stingers...the hockey team her brother plays for. At first when she met Max they rubbed each other the wrong way and their relationship started out rocky. They eventually reached an uneasy truce and tolerated each other. As they spend more time with each other they realize that there is an attraction brewing between the two of them. I loved the slow burn and when they gave into their attraction...the sparks flew and it was so hot. Max wormed his way into my heart and he will forever stay there. I loved everything about their story and is one of my favorite books to date by this author. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next and I highly recommend this book to everyone...its a phenomenal story that will tug at your heartstrings. Well done!!!!!

This is the third book in the Something So series and while I would recommend reading the series, this book can actually be read on a stand alone basis. This was such an enjoyable read and I devoured this book in one sitting as I just couldn't out it down. I'm an absolute sucker for the boy we all hate and love watching them redeem themselves or discovering their not quite the bleep we though they were and Natasha did a great job with Max and flipping all my preconceived ideas about him. The chemistry between Max and Allison was spot on. I loved the initial to and fro and their banter really made me smile. This is a relationship that you see grow and develop and I couldn't help but fall for this couple. Something So Irresistible was a fantastic addition to this great series and I for one, hope there's more to come from Justin and the twins! 4.5 fab stars I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher; there was no inducement or obligation and I opted to voluntarily leave a review.

Something So Irresistible is the third book in the Something So Series and it’s the BEST book of the series, in my humble opinion. I absolutely love series and even more I love a good series of standalones. Those stories that can stand completely on their own, you don’t have to read them in any type of order but if you do you, the reader, is usually in for some great fun. I love when you meet people in previous stories and are them able to either a) get their story or b) visit with them periodically. The Something So Series has revolved around professional hockey players, their families, friends and enemies! Each of the three stories are truly interlocked. In book three we are re-introduced to the adult Alison Grant; we have previously watched her grown from a precocious four year old to a teenager and now a beautiful adult. We are also re-introduced to Max Horton, the most hated man in the Something So Series. Alison is everything you want in a heroine… she is spunky and beautiful, independent and intelligent. She can certainly hold her own when it comes to her overbearing Father and Brother and an entire professional hockey team. Max is… Max is an enigma. And Natasha Madison is able to do the unthinkable. She is able to make him lovable and perfect. This story is truly about Max and his growth. This is story about second chances and true love. It is a story that makes you feel… I don’t know how Natasha does it… each of her books is better than the last. Something So Irresistible is by far my favorite of hers and its written beautifully. I cannot wait to see what Natasha has next in store for her readers!

I am seriously considering a new category. I seem to be drawn to men who are seemingly the growly, grouchy bears. The jerks we love to hate and love. And Mad Max is not an exception but the definition of the rule. I believe that if we aren't, we all want to be a little bit of Max. Protective, driven, loyal and sincerely wishing we can say exactly what is on our minds. And we'd all need an Allison. Someone to temper the bluntness and soften the edges. It's their characters - how they love to hate each other before they can learn to love each other that drives the reader to turn the pages. Their chemistry is undeniable and leaps into our hearts. Now, series police here: I pretty much insist that you at a minimum read book 2 (Something So Perfect) first before diving in. Max's character ARC really starts there along with Allison and the entire set of secondary characters involved. I think to truly appreciate the journey starting with book 1 is on your to-do list. You don't need to be a fan of the hockey world or any sport to appreciate thestory. Natasha Madison gives the readers a full scope romance that embraces humor, tension and chemistry for a perfect to add to your TBR. 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of those series that has all the feels from start to finish. I've loved the previous two stories and this one just made the series even better. This book has a real family feel to it. Although Max and Allison take up most of the book we spend a lot of time with interaction from the previous characters and it's a much richer story for it. Max wasn't at all what I expected, he was a lot softer and more compassionate then I expected. I though he would be as domineering as Matthew but actually his strength was a lot quieter but just as solid. Allison was as smart and sassy as I expected her to be. Growing up with her overbearing but loving brother was always gonna make her a strong independent women. I'd imagine she had to fight to get her way all the time growing up. Her bond with Cooper was beautiful and felt really special. I loved how much these two butted heads, the banter was such fun to read and I laughed lots. The chemistry is sizzling hot, Max was so in tune with Allison's needs and those scenes were smoking hot. Its a brilliant story and I hope we get some more stories set in this world as would definitely want to catch up with all these characters.

So, to start with, I have to say that I didn't think I would like Max very much (because he was SUCH a d*ck in Something So Perfect, Karrie & Matthew's story) but I was willing to reserve judgement...after all, this IS a Natasha Madison book and she has NEVER disappointed me! I think I fell in love with him around about Chapter Two (this story is told in dual POVs and Chapter Two is from Max's) My heart couldn't fall fast enough and I fell HARD for this messed up but INSANELY lovable hunk!! This story has it ALL. It's a not-quite-enemies-to-lovers romance that put my heart (and ALL my emotions) through the wringer AND on a roller coaster ride that I didn't want to get off of! Allison Grant is the perfect, strong-willed, spunky and feisty heroine to take on the Alpha, sexy-as-SIN Max Horton and I fell JUST as hard for her as I did for Max! I ADORED the funny, sexy banter that makes this a trademark Natasha Madison read! But it's soooooo much more than that; I SWOONED, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD, I wanted to STRANGLE a certain brother and father a few times (Matthew and Cooper, natch ;) ), I CRIED tears of JOY and FRUSTRATION and at the end, I was TOTALLY, COMPLETELY AND IRREVOCABLY in love with #MadMax!!! I will leave you with my favorite quote from this book and tell you, you NEED to get this AMAZING, emotional, FUNNY and sexy book!!! You won't be sorry! "But I love you, heart, body and soul. It's yours, angel. Forever. Marry me. Be my home. Let me be your home. To my last dying breath I promise to be your home."
