When I read this book I could not put it down! This is a book I could read again and again! The story line is complex and exciting, it keeps you on your toes! The unicorns are daring, brave, and high strung. I would recommend this book to any fantasy reader!

I realize that I'm a bit late in 'Getting to the book first,' but I none-the-less got to it. I'm shocked to discover that not many people own the whole trilogy and to find that it's out of print. I however to own the Trilogy and read them all in 2 days.(It would have been less, but I had school) I've always loved fantasy books, but this is the one that inspired me to write my own. This book was EXCELLENT! No need to mention how surprised I was to find out Korr's secret.WOW! It literally kept me guessing and wondering the whole time. Although the ending made me kind of upset, it was still great.

This book was really great. When my friends saw the cover, they said, "You're reading about unicorns?" And gave me this look like i was 3. But hey, this book was really worth it. REALLY worth it. The whole trilogy was AWESOME, and i hope you can read this book along with the other books in it. I hope you enjoy it as much as i did!

I read 'Birth of the Firebringer', first book of the Firebringer Trilogy, and loved it more than any other book. So I began to look for the other two books of the series. I found The Son of Summer Stars by requesting it at a library. So I read it, and wished that I could read it again. Jan, dark prince of the unicorns, leaves his people to chase down the mad king of unicorns, Korr. Lost, he sorely misses his mate, Tek. But he must put aside his needs and travel to the Hallow Hills. There he will fight with his mate and all of the unicorns, to empty the Hallow Hills of their enemies, the wyrms. My only regrets of reading this book were that I could not read it again, and that I will never be able to forget it, always longing to read Dark Moon! I rate it 10 stars!!!!

This book is, in my opinion, the perfect end to a perfect series. Pierce was able to make such a vivid world of mystical beings and in the same breath incorporate parts of our own. She showed how fears can be abandoned when the need is great. The only problem that someone might find with this book is the trouble in locating a copy. If you are interested and have not begun the series, I encourage you to locate a copy of 'Birth of the Firebringer'. If you already know of Jan, the troubled prince of the unicorns, I encourage you not to leave yourself hanging. Find a copy of this book.

I loved this book and the others before it!! The only down side is this book is out of print, and I'd love to own the whole Firebringer Trilogy. This book had me on the edge of my seat! I really wish the trilogy was put back in print.
