Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite Sorting Myself: A Collection of Poetry by Sarahbeth Caplin is a soulful collection of powerful writing that covers diverse topics. This collection is a treat for poetry lovers who can revel in the magic of some wonderful imagery, exquisite usage of metaphor, and the multiple interpretations in her writings. The poet has captured a multitude of emotions in this book with her powerful words and many of the poems have an energetic vibe. The good phrasings and lines make the poems an enjoyable read. The depth in her writings is the reflection of her honest interpretation of life and its impact on her. It is difficult for me to choose my favorite poem because all the poems are simple and elegant in the depiction of the poet's thoughts. The narrator has made the writing effective and the choice of themes in the poems is also good. The economical usage of words in the writing adds to the depth of the poems. Altogether, the book is a collection of fine writing put together to reach out to readers, speaking about the pressures of life, desire, and time. The brilliance with which the nuances of life have been judged by the poet entices readers to go back to the collection and read it many more times to get the multiple interpretations and layers hidden within the words and lines. The texture and depth of her writing will leave you with a lot of satisfaction and make you contemplate more.
