The second phase is similar to the first phase, but you'll start to reintroduce some of the banned foods. You can start eating high-fiber carbohydrates, such as whole-grain breads, which raise your insulin levels in a much milder way that do simple, starchy carbs.

"We don't want prolonged, severe weight loss," says Agatston. "You stay on the second phase only until you reach your goal weight."

The Third phase is the maintenance phase: how you'll eat for the rest of your life. It's the most liberal stage. You can continue to eat snacks if you need them, but most people find that they are satisfied without them.

This isn't an official South Beach diet book. The author barely speaks English and the sentences don't make sense.

This type of pirated ripoff is or should be illegal. It appears to be a badly scanned or transcribed version of the real book designed to fool people and rob them of their money. I can't believe the Nook store allows this kind of thing.

I just read the Read Instantly page--makes NO sense. Glad I didn't lay out money for this!

I just purchased this book, and I am disapointed with the quality of the sample meal plans. The pages 17 to 18 overlap, same for pages 24 to 26 and are hard to read. There seems to be page flow missing from page 28 to 29. Page 28 the meal plan diagram is cut in half. Disapointed

If they have not reformatted this ebook, you will not be able to see the entire/full pages throughout the book! I paid for the book, discovered "the bad format" then was told by B&N I could not get a refund and had to wait till the publisher reformatted the book. UGH sucks!

you can't even read have the pages or recipes in this book! The pages over lap and it is just a mess.. very disappointed that I spent money on this.

I have the original book. I thought that's what I was getting. Instead, it is a very consolidated version. Minimal amount of pages and very little information.

I had an earlier edition of this in hardback. There was a lot more to the book that what is in this. I will try to use it but not real optimistic.

I have tried many diets to lose the troublesome 15 lbs. I gained when I turned 30 to no avail utnil I found this book. I never feel deprived, or hungry and best of all I'm not counting calories! I have lost all my cravings just as the book said I would and was exstatic when I not only started to lose weight, but also inches within the first 2 weeks and that was without any exercise! My recent loss has been accelerated by the addition of exercise. I now have more energy than ever before!

So far, after one week, my husband's belly and my tummy are disappearing! Whatever this diet does, it does it great. Hoping to see progress and maintenance of the shape we are in.
