Finalist in the Book Seller's Best Award!
Brooke Hammond crossed the Atlantic determined to make a success of the Louisiana plantation she inherited. Only one obstacle stands in her way--a devilishly charming, infernally arrogant obstacle named Travis Montgomery, co-owner of her estate. If Travis marries and produces an heir within the year, Moss Grove will be his--unless he marries Brooke. Seducing Travis and then sending him on his way should be simple, but the searing desire Brooke feels in his presence presents an unexpected complication ...
Travis took his father's dilapidated estate and turned it into a profitable enterprise, and no woman is going to claim it from him. So begins a contest of wits and will, where temptation and torrid kisses are the weapons of choice, and surrender the ultimate prize. But for two worthy opponents, winning the battle may mean losing everything that matters...

I like her writing style. The book was really good in the beginning, towards the end It had a few problems for me. After they married and go on on there Web honeymoon that's when the book just fell apart. Like when he finds out she was a former whore. He wanted to call out the guy who on called her that but when he confronts her..he forgives and he had no emotions at all. ( like being mad) then his mother does everything to break them up and yells at his wife but they so easily forgive. Then when she gets pushed from the boat.. he thinks she left him. (Really, jumps ship) then she comes back after a month thinking he could have pushed her. Let's just say the reunion was different.. not at all what you would expect with people who are in love. I just expected more emotion..it was lacking for me. I didn't feel there connection. They had a better connection in the beginning of the book when they hated each other..and there was no epilogue. .this auther had potential but the book fell flatt towards the end. The beginning was so good and it drew me in..wish she could rewrite the honeymoon part.
