Overview

On the Sword World Gram, Lucas Trask, Baron of Traskon, is about to marry Elaine Karva. But Andray Dunnan, the insane nephew of Duke Angus of Wardshaven, is under the delusion that Elaine loves him. When she tries to correct him, his anger boils over. He kills her and seriously wounds Trask, before stealing the Duke's newly-built starship, the Enterprise, and escaping.

When Trask recovers from his injuries, he pledges his realm to Duke Angus in return for another warship, twin to the one hijacked by Dunnan. Trask sets out in search of Dunnan, despite the fact that given the vastness of the galaxy, his goal is nearly hopeless.

Decent story. Well told in 148 pages. Did not quite believe the cigarette, cigar, and pipe smoking would be allowed on a space ship, with recycled air, for weeks at a time. That is the only negative comment about the book.

Things the author had no clue about: Vikings, history, space & planetary resources, Hitler, human nature, trade, shipping.... So was the space combat at least exciting? No. Is the book worth $2:99 on your Nook? No.
