Typically it has been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tarrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Miguel Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gomez and Narciso Yepes but most likely it is an anonymous composers work. First recorded in Madrid sometime between 1897 and 1901 and published in Argentina in 1913, Spanish Romance gained worldwide fame in Rene Clements 1952 film Jeux interdits also known as Forbidden Games Duet Sheet Music for Tenor Saxophone accompanied by Tuba arranged by Lars Christian Lundholm.
