The Speaker's Book of Quotations by Henry O. Dormann

"Think how much happier women would be if, instead of endlessly fretting about what the males in their lives are thinking, they could relax, secure in the knowledge that the correct answer is: very little."

"I'd tell you what I really thought about the national media, but as my good friend Dana Carvey would say, 'Wouldn't be prudent. Not gonna do it.' "

"We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don't like?"

"Don't find fault. Find a remedy."

"Peace is more precious than a piece of land."

"People who read tabloids deserve to be lied to."

"Patriotism is not a short and frenzied outburst of emotion but the tranquil and steady dedication of lifetime."

I write newsletters, tech sheets, instruction sheets - in other words, not the most compelling readings that anyone will read in the course of their day. To hold the reader's interest, some sparkle needs to be added. I'll mix in metaphor, musical lyrics or famous quotes. This isn't the only book of quotes that I own, but it's the one I grab first. It's well organized which helps to keep the task moving forward. Thanks, Henry Kozmo18
