JEANNE CAMPBELL REESMAN is a professor of English at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is the author of American Designs: The Late Novels of James and Faulkner and Jack London: A Study of the Short Fiction. She is coediting a major collection of London's photographs that will be published by the University of Georgia Press. Her other books include Trickster Lives and Speaking the Other Self (both Georgia).

JACQUELINE VAUGHT BROGAN is a professor of English at the University of Notre Dame. Her books include Stevens and Simile and Part of the Climate, as well as a collection of her own poetry, Damage.

DONNA M. CAMPBELL is a professor of English at Washington State University.

TRUDIER HARRIS is J. Carlyle Sitterson Professor of English at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is co-editor of The Oxford Companion to African American Literature and author of The Power of the Porch (Georgia) and Fiction and Folklore: The Novels of Toni Morrison.

SHARON M. HARRIS is a professor of English at the University of Connecticut. The author or editor of numerous books, she is founder of the Society for the Study of American Women Writers.
