Meet the Author

I woke up one morning and decided to give play time to the people in my head who were keeping me awake. Little did I know that they would be so relentless and want their time right now! I wrote for the pure joy of it and to entertain my family and friends. But mostly it was to get more than an hour of sleep without a story playing out. Of course, the more I write, the more they want. So...well, as a result of sleepless days (I work through the night as a gun toting grandma - nope not a vigilantly but an armed security guard) I have lots of stories written.

Hello! My name is Kathi Barton and I'm an author. I have been married to my very best friend Sonny for at times seems several lifetimes - in a good way, honey. And together we have three wonderful children and then the ones we brought into the world - Paul and Dale Barton, Jason and Wendy Barton and Danielle and Ben Conklin. They have given us seven of the greatest treasures on Earth. They don't live at home seven days a week! No, seriously, seven grandchildren - Gavin, Spring, Ben, Trinity, Sarah, Kelly and Kian.

Ms. Barton has a never ending imagination when it comes to her books. This is one of many of the Grant Brother’s stories. This one is about Spencer. I fell in love with him for the wonderful man that was raising his daughter, Meggie on his own. Cait is a homicide detective that has saved Meggie from being hit by a vehicle. Meggie is deaf and didn’t hear it coming towards her. Spencer meets Cait at the hospital and finds out she has saved his daughter and is instantly drawn to her. She can’t resist the charms of Spencer in the least. She had been in the hospital herself after being shot and is now running for her life. She doesn’t want anyone involved in her life because she doesn’t want to put them in danger as well. It’s bad enough her Uncle Paddy and Aunt Dierdre are protecting her and helping her heal so she can go back and testify against the man that wants her dead. Is she strong enough to avoid the advances of Spencer? How can she avoid such a sweet little girl like Meggie? Is there enough love in her to keep those around her safe? Ms. Barton, you are wonderful. I can’t seem to get enough of your books and I know you have many more surprises up your sleeve for us readers. Thank you for another wonderful book.

This book is just...bad. I almost passed it up because of the cover. Really? It does not fit the book whatsoever. I should have passed it up. Bad editing, poorly written, and completely unbelieveable. Sigh. Could have been a great book.
