Spiritual Spiritualby B-Tribe
B-Tribe, the nom de disco of enigmatic German producer and Ibiza resident Claus Zundel, returns with another set of romantic, classics-invoking soundscapes and sexy, down-tempo beats. The flamenco-charged Spiritual! Spiritual! could have just as easily been dubbed "Sultry! Sultry!" Guitarist Paco Fernandez offers searing solos throughout the album, but like Zundel, he keeps the emotions smoldering and the passions curbed. Mark Smith Jr. adds the lonely, noble tones of trumpet and flugelhorn on "Sketches of St. Antoni" and the famous "Matador de Sa Pena," by Joaquin Rodrigo. B-Tribe quotes from Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor, using just the tragic opening theme; here, Fernandez handles the variations while Zundel maintains the somber, steady beat. Gregorian chants haunt the album, offering both touches of spirituality and repression. "She Moves Through the Fair" adds Celtic-flavored innocence, and B-Tribe sparks the energy with an innovative combo of bongos and palmas. Languid yet dry, scorching yet as cool as Miles Davis, Spiritual! Spiritual! keeps you poised on the precipice of passion.

"Spiritual ! Spiritual !" may be, hands down, the most exquisite and seriously sensual music we've ever owned - and we have a rather large collection. B-Tribe is nothing short of incredible - if you adore the very best of classical guitar and Gregorian chant. Try this CD. It's a brilliantly artistic piece of pure pleasure and an investment in relaxation, de-stressing the body and mind! We take this when we travel. In fact, we "don't leave home without it." (Yes. It really is that good!)
This album is so relaxing . . .the title says it all . . . . give it a try!
