## Yes, this book was compelling. Yes, it was different. But this was just not my cup of tea. The split personality was just too much to take. Especially when the heroine had to watch the hero have sex with other women. But it wasn't really him. It was his "other" personality. Ugh. Cheating is cheating. Sure the 3 of them had their HEA, but it was just too bizarre for me. Honestly, the whole thing is slightly disturbing.

This story grabbed me from page 1 and didn’t let go. Shyann is a very strong woman but she’s struggling with her true identity. When she got the first chance, she left Payson to pursue a career in journalism. On one of her first assignments, well, it doesn’t go so well and now she’s black balled at all the stations. She returns home with her tail between her legs, needing a job from her dad. But all she can think about is how to get out of Payson. Then she encounters Lucas. Lucas is a quiet man with an incredible artistic talent. Shyann’s dad has embraced Lucas, giving him a job and a place to stay. Lucas is a broken soul, his childhood was so painful that he split to survive. He now works to stay in the shadows, hidden, to stay out of the darkness. What he never expects is to find a connection to Shyann, he doesn’t know how to handle these emotions. Shyann and Lucas are both hurting and lost, can they find a way to help each other? Or will outside forces be too much to overcome? I loved this story, there is a beautiful balance to how this relationship builds and grows with an element of suspense and the unknown of Lucas’s split.

Very good story if unconventional. Loved the character development(s)!!! Alil to much mush at end to be believable and the only reason it's not 5*.

An intense ride with a heart stopping twist! ***** JB knocks this one out of the park and I cannot be more excited about her branching out! This story about Lucas and Shyann grabbed me from the beginning and held me until the very last page. This book was definitely an emotional rollercoaster as we learned more and more about Lucas and Shyann. I was able to connect with Lucas’ innocence about things from when I was younger and going through those feelings. I absolutely loved the part with the burgers and the date. It was so cute! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read that will keep your attention throughout the whole story.

Split by J.B. Salsbury is a standalone romance with a twist. Told in dual (triple?) POV and extraordinarily unique, at least as far as my reading experience goes, this novel quite literally yanked me into the pages so deep I didn't ever want to leave. Shyann is a tough woman with a streak of bad luck pushing back to her hometown of Payson. With as much "suck-it-up" attitude as she can muster, she returns after being gone for five long years and asks her dad to help her out. Things are tense between them. Dad is mad that she left so fast after graduation and she is angry that he is letting someone stay in the river house that was her mom's. Lucas is a man of few words and plethora of secrets. He keeps his distance and stays away from anything that can trigger his blackouts but when Shyann shows up in his life she lays all his preventative measures to waste and does nothing but antagonize his dark side. Oh my god - this book was awesome - the clear differentiation between characters was beautifully done and the story never once lagged. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

This story is pretty wild. Lucas has a split personality. His main identity is very quite and shy. The other part of him is very different and originated to protect him from serious abuse as a child. The problem is that no one really knows what he’s capable of doing when he blacks out (his other self takes over). I was extremely fascinated by this story from the first word. I don’t know true to life the details for dissociative identity disorder are in Split, but it’s an interesting subject for sure. I had a little trouble accepting how everything wrapped up, but I was definitely entertained the whole time. I reckon reading this. You won't be bored.

The minute Shyann graduated high school she couldn't wait to pack her things and leave her small town behind and follow her big city dreams. She soon found the job she was sure would catapult her into journalism stardom, and just when she was about to get her big break, a long forgotten memory derailed it all, and just like that her dream was gone. Now with no money to pay her bills, and no job she is forced to return to the one place she hoped she would never have to face again..home! When the bosses daughter Shyann breezes into his carefully planned life Lucas finds himself in a place he never thought he'd be, he has always tried to avoid relationships and love because they mean emotions, and he doesn't do them. He can't handle the repercussions they cause, nor can he give anyone all of himself, it's just something he's not prepared to let out. But no matter how hard he tries to avoid interactions with this beautiful woman he can't seem to stay away, she makes him feel things he never knew were possible and he just can't seem to walk away from that... it just keeps drawing him deeper, and deeper. This was my first experience with this author's work and I have to stay I was really impressed with what I discovered, her intriguing story kept me on the edge of my seat and flying through the pages with bated breath. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, she would turn the tables on me and take me in another unexpected direction!! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this one, it was refreshing change of pace for me and turned out to be one of the most impressive first reads that I have had the pleasure of devouring in a long while!! Highly recommend this one, it is sure to keep you on your toes!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

***5 “Love never discriminates’ Stars*** I thought I knew what I was getting myself into with this book, or at least half a clue, but I’m woman enough to admit that in the end I knew nothing. Oh there were a couple of things I “knew” but they were such minor aspects in the big scheme of things that they don’t really count, but that’s what made this book a page turner that I couldn’t put down. It brought out all the feels, and when I say ALL. THE. FEELS. I mean it. Split is a book that one NEEDS to experience with as open and unbiased a mind as possible, which is quite difficult, but so worth it in the end. Shyann ~ God this girl drove me bat sh#t crazy and I honestly didn’t know if I’d end up even liking her at the end of the book. I understood why she felt the way she did and her reasoning for doing the things she did, but her tunnel vision rubbed me the wrong way so much in the beginning that I actually ended up snarling at her. A lot. But, I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt because of the glimpses of her true heart that would pop up every so often and that Shyann I really wanted to know and thank god I got to meet that girl. She was still stubborn and determined but her heart was as genuine and compassionate as they come. Lucas/??? ~ From the description of the book you’ve probably guessed that there is a lot more to Lucas than meets the eye, but you’ll have to read the book to find out just how that all works out. What I will say is that I adored Lucas from the beginning, he preferred solitude and peace and had a sweet simplicity to him that was more welcoming than off putting, but holy f%*k did my heart shatter for him at what he’d been put through in his short life. No one should ever have to experience what he did, but even though he went through hell he has a pure soul that draws you in. And in the end I adored both sides of this very complex yet simple man and loved how both sides of his nature finally blended together. Shyann and Lucas’ journey was a rocky one. They both had demons to conquer and walls to tear down but they did it together and separately. The mix of Shyann’s tenacity and Lucas’ sweet protectiveness brought out the best in each other and gave them both hope for a brighter future than either had thought possible. While the smexy level isn’t in the realm of needing an Arctic temperature bath, it’s still pretty smexy and perfect for them. And their HEA? It was perfect for them. Split is my first book by J.B. Salsbury and talk about being shoved down the rabbit hole, but I enjoyed every second of it, even when I was snarling. The multiple first person POV was well done as was the pacing of the story. The mystery/suspense aspects of the story were well thought out and executed and the twists and turns had me questioning what I believed had happened. The secondary characters were very well written and I know this is a standalone, but I’m crossing my toes that Cody my get his own book one day. Also, this book goes into some pretty dark and heavy issues that will be major triggers for some, so be aware and prepared for it, but know that they play an integral part to the story. ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley and reviewed voluntarily ~

Split is an exciting new romantic thriller from author JB Salsbury and is a total stand alone novel. Split is told from multiple points of view and is unlike anything we’ve seen from this author before. Without going into very many details, I can tell you that this kind of story is all the rage right now, and JB Salsbury has offered and unique and refreshing take on this type of romance. Split is well written and very intriguing. This story will pull you in from the very beginning and it will keep you on your toes, the entire time. And just when you think you’ve got the whole story figured out, a delicious twist is thrown your way, tossing out everything you thought you knew. Split was an enjoyable read for me from beginning to end. I loved getting caught up in this unique romance and enjoyed trying to figure the story-line out.
