Morrell's holiday tale concerns a special baby, who has the power to change the world forever, and the group of people chosen to protect him against the Russian mafia. The group comes together in the face of adversity and in the process learns lessons of peace on Earth and goodwill toward men. David Colacci does his best to make this sappy spy tale enjoyable, but there is simply too little to go on. Colacci sounds unimpressed for most of the novel, speaking in a glum, low voice that fails to create tension and or even a slight sense of urgency as the story unfolds. This venture is uninspired from page to performance. A Vanguard hardcover (Reviews, Sept. 8). (Nov.)Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
