Stand up to Authority: Use your voice, tell your story
Life is all about facing challenges and fighting your way forward. Some of us are born with few obstacles in our path, while others are born with walls upon walls blocking our path to success. Life has never been easy for Trini Stoddard, a former Hispanic police officer who was born into a troubled family. From childhood, she had to become the adult in the family as her mother's illness had her parents preoccupied; managing the house and taking care of her young siblings was the norm. As a result, she had no freedom of her own and was bound to the house, not being allowed to go out and spend some time with her friends. As she grew out of her teens and into her twenties, her problems seemed to increase; getting arrested, having to leave the house, etc. Finally, she fell in love and later married a policeman who encouraged her to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a Police officer.

Trini joined the force and, through many trials by fire and heaps of discrimination, she was able to become a police officer. However, her dream job hadn't been what she had hoped for, as she quickly found herself facing sexual harassment and racial discrimination at work, which forced her to resign. But Trini isn't one to easily give up and face judgment; she is a fighter and fought the entire Police department of Arizona in court(Something that had never been done). Unfortunately, that wasn't all that life had to throw at her as she found out what her brother had done to his wife. Now at the age of 60, Trini's battle continues...
