About the Author

Sally J. Pla is the author of The Someday Birds (her debut novel) and Stanley Will Probably Be Fine. She has traveled on family road trips to most everywhere in this story. She has English degrees from Colgate and Penn State and has worked as a business journalist and in public education. She has three sons, a husband, and an enormous, fluffy dog and lives near lots of lemon trees in Southern California. You can visit her online at www.sallyjpla.com.

Steve Wolfhard was born in Ontario, Canada, and has been drawing comics since he graduated from animation college. Steve has a fat barn cat named Haircut, whom he loves but does not like. The first zombie movie Steve ever saw was Return of the Living Dead, and it still scares the crud out of him.

Even though Stanley knows a lot about comics, you don't have to know anything about them to love this book! Stanley is a comics expert who also suffers from extreme anxiety which makes him feel like an outsider, especially when his best friend is drifting away. Sally Pla expertly interweaves Stanley's sensory disorder with the real life middle school drama he's experiencing. She takes us on a quest where to win Comic Fest tickets Stanley must find bravery he didn't know he had and become more capable than anyone thought possible. So much so, that we feel by the end that (spoiler) Stanley will probably be fine. This is a lovely book and I really recommend it.
