Overview

Star Wars Republic Commando #3: True Colors by Karen Traviss

As the savage Clone Wars rage unchecked, the Republic’s deadliest warriors face the grim truth that the Separatists aren’t their only enemy–or even their worst.

In the Grand Army’s desperate fight to crush the Separatists, the secret special ops missions of its elite clone warriors have never been more critical . . . or more dangerous. A growing menace threatens Republic victory, and the members of Omega Squad make a shocking discovery that shakes their very loyalty.

As the lines continue to blur between friend and enemy, citizens–from civilians and sergeants to Jedi and generals–find themselves up against a new foe: the doubt in their own hearts and minds. The truth is a fragile, shifting illusion–and only the approaching inferno will reveal both sides in their true colors.

Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

I am not a big Star Wars fan. Seen the movies about one, maybe two times. But the once I started reading the books I became hooked, And Karen Traviss's Republic Commando Series is the best yet. They all put much more focus on the clones involved in the clone wars, not just the big characters we see throughout the movies. True Colors, the third in series, has been the most dramatic when it comes to furthering the character's plots thus far. New relationships are formed, new foes are revealed, and all the troopers lives change forever.

I love the Republic Commandos series! My favorite series used to be the x-wings but once these came out there was no competition. I love the way Karen Traviss writes. This book was a little sad. I will admit I got a little choked up during one part, but after reading the next book I was okay with the situation. This is one of my all time favorites.

Travis outdoes herself in this amazing series. With many twists and turns and exciting moments, Traviss will have you laughing from the moment you start. Flawless. A real work of literature! -Smitty out

I thought this was the best Republic Commando novel of the all. It was at this point in the series that I really started to love the characters. The events of this book were very page turning and lots of new characters were introduced in this installment. Too bad the series fizzled out at the end, because after True Colors it really got me interested in where the story was headed, only to leave me hanging at the end.

Karen Traviss continues to make the clones more human, while showing that the Republic isn't always the "good guys".

The story continues to grow in complexity but the action and sci-fi are lessened while the drama and the angst are enhanced.

This entire series is outstanding. It gives an insight to the clones lives and feelings. You find that you care about them and what happens to them and the people around them.
