Starfire by Kate Douglas

Conquered, the Demon King has been banished to Abyss--but he is far from dead. A greater danger awaits Ginny Jones and the Demonslayers in this spellbinding, highly sensual paranormal romance. . .

Stand By Me

The women of Lemuria are still in chains. The daughter of an enslaved warrior, brutally attacked by a vicious guard, Selyn has survived--barely. Beaten and terrified, she must overcome her fear and trust her life to the only man who can help her: Dawson Buck, one from Earth who has crossed through the portal, a gifted healer. His skills and knowledge renew her body and strengthen her spirit--and awaken a compelling passion she has never known. But she cannot yield. . .

Selyn seeks revenge for herself and her mother and all the Forgotten Ones who toil in secret. If Dawson helps her, his own life may be forfeit. And for Selyn, true love does not ask such sacrifices. . .

On Lemuria, the son of the Councilor, Alton, his beloved human woman Ginny, Eddy the human woman and her beloved Dax the demon have learned that the demons control Lemuria as the Council of Nine ignored warnings. As they realize an inconvenient truth, heroic warrior women remain chained since they fought in the last demon War. Selyn a Forgotten One daughter of a chained warrior woman was enslaved a thousand years ago by the Council of Nine at the end of that war. She and her sisters in arms prepare the rebellion against the Council of Nine. However, a guard viscously beats her to near death. Human veterinarian Dawson Buck saves her life. He heals her mind, soul and heart while she gives him a personal reason to live and fight on the Lemuria side of the portal. Although the Demon King was defeated and exiled to the Abyss, the war continues to heat up with much of the action focused in Lemuria rather than on earth where the first two urban romantic fantasy Demonslayer thrillers (see Demonfire and Hellfire) occurred. Loaded with deadly action and sexual action, fans will appreciate this strong saga, but newcomers would be better off reading the first two entries to grasp the intricacies and nuances of the series as worlds of Kate Douglas are incredibly complex. I usually find Kate Douglas' books very good; however, this one is a little tepid in my opinion. Too much descriptive writing and not enough interaction between the main characters.

I found myself skipping pages whoch is something i rarely do. Ive read a couple of her short, sexy, stories and wanted to give afull length story a try and found that i will dtick eith her novellas. The main characters were boring and steriotypical, the mans name is Dawson and is you gentle neighborhood vet with unrealistic self control. I found myself more interested in the supporting roles and their intimate realations then the mains. It also seemed in every scene all the couples would give a supporting smack on the lips to their appropriate spouse, nothing titilating or relevant and eventually it became obnoxious. Overall it felt like a short dtory that was dtug out waaaaay to long with unmemerable characters. Sorry Douglas not even the lack luster sex scenes could save this book.
