About the Author

Lisa Orchard grew up loving books. She was hooked on books by the fifth grade and even wrote a few of her own. She knew she wanted to be a writer even then. Her first published works are the “Super Spies Series.” These stories revolve around a group of friends who form their own detective squad and the cases they solve. “The Starlight Chronicles,” is the next series that Lisa created with musical misfit, Lark Singer as her main character.
After graduating from Central Michigan University with a Marketing Degree, she spent many years in the insurance industry, pining to express her creative side. The decision to stay home with her children gave her the opportunity to follow her dream and become a writer. She currently resides in Rockford Michigan with her husband, Steve, and two wonderful boys. Currently, she’s working on the next book in the Starlight Chronicles Series. When she’s not writing she enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, and reading.

This was a really good story, it is part of a series. I generally do not like series but this one was able to pull me in. Bean was a good guy who got into some bad stuff. Bean is in a band with Lark, the leading lady. Lark was a nice girl who just wants a better life. I didnt love the story but it had some good plot twists and characters.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author Lisa Orchard.) “Your drummer has a problem. You know that don’t you?” Wow! What an instalment in this series! Please tell me there is a fourth book?! I felt really sorry for Lark in this story, to lose what she lost hurt her so much, and it was clear to see how much her grief was affecting her. Talk about coming right out of the blue too! I shake my head while never taking my eyes off her face. “I’m sorry, Lark.” The storyline in this was good; we got to meet Lark’s father!! And we got to see the first leg of the American Singer competition!! So much happening! “We’ll let the bands draw straws to see who goes first.” There was a little bit of romance, but not a lot, but that kind of fitted in with the rest of the story. “Bean leans toward me and kisses me. It’s a deep kiss and I like the feeling of his firm lips against mine.” The ending to this was good, and I really hope there is another book in this series! Please tell me it doesn’t end like that?! I need more!! 7 out of 10
