With Jesse, you brush elbows with legendary celebrities. You're up close to the action as he signs major recording contracts, performs on Broadway, records in the best studios in New York and Los Angeles. From having Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones watch in amazement as Jesse's band, the Young Executives, covered the hit song "Satisfaction," to helping arrange and then perform in Stephen Schwartz's hit Broadway show Godspell with the #1 single "Day by Day," to being the premier artist for Faberge's Brut Records label that included Michael Franks and comedian Robert Klein, to recording an album with Academy Award winner Joe Renzetti (The Buddy Holly Story), Jesse had it all. But temptations, seduction and leveraged buyouts of major entertainment conglomerates left him out in the cold.

About the Author

Jesse Cutler has had an illustrious and colorful career. He's been a musician, composer, actor, producer, entrepreneur, and even a Playgirl centerfold. Starting in New York City in the 1960s and then in Los Angeles from the early '70s through the late '90s, Jesse performed with his bands and in the original cast of Godspell on Broadway, made records that saw Billboard's Top 100, formed his own companies, and appeared on TV and radio and in national print. Now, Jesse is looking to the future, poised for the next step in his multifaceted career. With StarLust: The Price of Fame, he says, "I wanted to share my experiences and prepare those who are on the edge of fame. There are so many traps to avoid. But there is also a great sense of accomplishment and reward once you do grab that brass ring and enter the spotlight." Jesse Cutler lives in Winter Park, Florida.

It was interesting to read about the world that we usually only see at a distance. My uncle did some promotional work for Mr. Cutler when Jesse was with the "Young Executives", and I was honored to see that he remembered my uncle in his book even though so many years had past. The essence of Mr. Cutler's character shines through, even when things were difficult in his life, he had a will to survive. Fame can be fleeting, but he proves that having the love of family and friends really gets you through everything. The music world can be very cold, and when you are on top, everyone loves you. No one really knows all the years of practice and effort that goes into being a success. Jesse explains all of this first hand, and makes you realize the music world is not for anyone who is not serious or doesn't love what they do. It was interesting to read how "timing" and "luck" and "who you come in contact with" is everything in that business. I was happy to read that he still has a zest for life, and is still "creating" (this time on his own terms, and following his own heart).

The man that nobody knows perhaps... but clearly the man who knows everybody, including a donkey named Josephine! This is such a fascinating story, a true story, of a musicians journey through life, love and stardom. Reading this book is both wildly entertaining and often times surprisingly inspirational. Definitely a must read for everyone this fall from teens to seniors. You will not be disappointed.

This is not just a spin of words made into a fairy tale experience, this is what I call real life, hard knocks, with a deep desire to maintain what all of his talents gave forth and to see it thru with an outmost of honesty and direction from his very determined dad. What a great book for everyone's library in all ages, in fact it should be number one on the score card.

I've had the privilege of reading Jesse's book ahead of its release. I also have the privilege of knowing Jesse personally. I have his Playgirl centerfold mounted on my bathroom wall...who cares if it's from the 70's? He's still is attractive to me. This book is an amazing story of rags-to- riches-to-rags. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. Jesse's story keeps you hooked from the first page to the last page. Jesse has amazing talent...his voice, his music..his body...the man has it all. It's just a shame he's not among the popular celebrities of today...this is a MUST READ!
