Great easy read. Ms Holland does a very good job of relating the character and emotions of her cast. Definatly a woman's perspective; however, it is a delightful read for anyone.

It's easy to root for the main characters Samantha and Wyatt, and what a fun surprise to revisit with characters from Debra Holland's first novel, Wild Montana Sky. Can't wait for more in the series!

The story of widow Samantha Sawyers Rodriguez and her move to Montana to raise her 9-year-old son and miniature horses springs to life with engrossing characters and powerful storytelling. Holland (Wild Montana Sky) creates a rewarding, old-fashioned love story that lingers in the memory. Set in 1894, the tale begins in Argentina when Samantha, chafing beneath the thumb of her harsh father-in-law, learns that she's inherited a ranch from her uncle. Soon she's butting heads with a neighbor, widower Wyatt Thompson, who wanted to buy the ranch for himself and disapproves of her plan to take in a troublesome pair of orphaned twin boys. But Wyatt can be an ally as well, especially when much of the town turns against the rambunctious children. I found this book hard to put down and delightful to read.

When Samantha inherits a ranch in Montana, her life changes for the good! She takes her dreams and her child and begins raising miniature horses. She butts heads with neighbor Wyatt who wanted the ranch for himself. But they become allies (of course! I love that part!). Also, I love reading a book and getting a chance to visit with characters I met and loved in an earlier book. If you loved Wild Montana Sky, you will really enjoy catching up with the cast from that book. A lovely, emotional but sweet romance. Can't wait for another one!

You offer this book "Starry Montana Sky" via email to Nook owners for $2.99, but you do not have a spot to purchase it as a Nook book. Please look into this

I highly recommend these Montana Skies books, the first two are terrific. I've already purchased the next, and can not wait to read it. I'll be looking for more books by Ms Holland.

I truly enjoyed the children in this story. I really hope that the author writes a story or more about the children. I would love to see how their futures unfold.

For lovers of heartwarming, western historical romances, it's a must-read!. Samantha - "Daniel!" She waved the letter. "I have news," she called in the English she always used with him. Her son straightened up from the horse. "What, Mama?" Eager expectancy glowed in his blue eyes, and for a moment he looked so much like his father that a familiar pain pierced her heart and tempered her excitement. From long practice, she shoved her sadness aside. "I've inherited Uncle Ezra's ranch in Montana." --- Wyatt - "Wyatt. I've just received a letter from Mrs. Samantha Sawyer Rodriguez. She's Ezra's niece and has inherited his ranch." ... "She lives in Argentina." ... She's a widow with one son." ... "She's moving out here." ... "Going to breed horses and take in orphan boys to raise up as God-fearing citizens." "You say this Rodriguez woman is goin' to raise horses?" ... "Horses from Argentina?" "A stallion and five mares. Falabellas. Must be some South American breed." STARRY MONTANA SKY by Debra Holland is a lovely, clean western romance which begins in Argentina and then moves quickly to Sweetwater Springs, Montana for the balance of the story. It is the second book in her Montana Sky series and has interconnected characters with hers and Caroline Fyffe's other Sweetwater, Montana books but it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. That said, I highly recommend reading all of Debra's and Caroline's western books as they are all fantastic. Be aware that these books are all sweet romances - the heat level is almost non-existent. STARRY MONTANA SKY is the story of widow Samantha Sawyer Rodriquez and widower Wyatt Thompson.  My full review is published at Reading Between The Wines Book Club. I did enjoy this book as well as the series. If you bought it for the Nook, you better check if it is still there. Mine shows that it is there but when I try to open it, it opens to Stormy Montana Sky. I thought that when I bought a book I had it permanently but evidently not. Barnes and Noble did refund my purchase but I wasted over an hour because first  I was told it was a technical glitch and  would have to call the help line. The author had pulled it. I don't think that is right. I'd have more to say about the book if I still had it.
