"Perry is a storyteller, weaving magic wherever she goes, much to the delight of her millions of fans." – The Literary Shed

For Luna Kipling, moving to Bedford Falls is a fresh start--a chance to let go of the mistakes of the past and start over with a clean slate. It's a chance to find real love, with someone who values and respects her mind and heart rather than just her body.

And that someone is not contractor Travis Scott, even if his hammer is big and he knows how to use it...

About the Author

These are a few of Kate's favorite things...

- The giggle of balloons as they rub together.
- Resting her head on her sister's shoulder.
- The sparkle of the sun setting on the Seine.
- Accordions, fiddles, the banging of drums!
- Spinning her sword in figure eights.
- The sultry confidence wearing her tango shoes.
- The splatter of bright paint on a canvas.
- The crisp joy of a mouthful of champagne.
- And, most of all, LOVE, because nothing's more important.

Kate writes about all these magical things and Happily Ever After. Her acclaimed Laurel Heights and Bedford Falls books are international bestsellers, as are her Fillmore & Greenwich and Summerhill series. She's been translated into several languages. All her books feature sassy, independent women who just want love and earthy men full of heart who are more than able to rise to the occasion.

Just OK Laura and Travis face many problems those in real life face. The story is interesting until it gets to the parts of magic, crystals, etc. I am not into crystals, telling fortunes, full moon festivals, etc. Because it did deal with Laura's involvement into these -- she had a store full of new age things -- I was turned off. Many will not agree with me but for me, it was a religious decision to lower the rating.

Shining Stars and Fairy Dust Stars Shine Bright Above was my first Kate Perry book, but it most certainly isn’t my last. From the moment I saw the beautiful cover, I knew the story inside must be full of magic. And it most certainly was. Luna Kipling is determined not to follow the same pattern with men any longer. Despite being lonely, she refuses to settle for anything less than a man who will truly see her value. Her desire to be part of her new community added such a great element to the story. She’s a wonderful mixture of strength and vulnerability, and she shows us that it’s okay to be both and still find joy. Travis Scott is busier than he’d like to be running the family business, but it’s nearly impossible to ignore his attraction to Luna when a pipe in her building bursts, and he’s up close and personal in her apartment. Luna believes everything happens for a reason, and despite her initial impression that getting involved with Travis would be a mistake, they find themselves struggling to deny the forces pulling them together. One of my favorite aspects of the book came in the form of a man still grieving the loss of his wife. Jack Westwood is hiding from the world, and it takes those who love him the most to push him back into the world again. And the way it happens absolutely won me over. This book resonates with the heart, and Kate Perry has an obvious talent for making readers fall in love with the characters...and maybe it’s also a bit of fairy dust.
