Overview

Stars & Stripes: Fanfares, Marches & Wind Band Spectaculars

One of the best records of its kind ever made. Played with great sophistication and panache. Fennell and his splendid players are simply unsurpassable in this repertoire and so are the Telarc engineers.

I bought this cd simply because I needed a good recording of Grainger's 'Lincolnshire Posy' (I knew I couldn't go wrong w/ Fennell). Little did I know what else I was getting. This is an incredibly warm-sounding ensemble, and is one of the best I have heard. There were some places where I would expect a bit more, but those were not at all dissatisfying.
