WOMEN'S FICTION AT ITS FINEST What an amazingt book! The scene in Chapter Two where Maggie Hudson is getting rid of reminders of her past is enough to make this book an instant bestseller! It was funny and a little bit heartbreaking and so true I felt as if I'd been friends with Maggie for years. Jean and Lillian are wonderful characters, too. Each one has a unique voice and personality. The story of these three best friends kept me turning pages. I found myself belly laughing one minute then reaching for tissues the next! I loved the book all the way through, and the ending was absolutely perfect. The thing that stands out to me is how I got totally immersed in the lives of ordinary women going about their everyday business and trying to make sense of it all. I think it takes a lot of skill for an author to make the ordinary seem extraordinary.Peggy Webb does this in spades, just as she did in DRIVING ME CRAZY, another one of my favorite books. Stars to Lead Me Home is women's fiction at its finest. Grab this one and get ready for pure reading pleasure!
THE MUST READ BOOK OF 2015 Once in a blue moon you discover a book you want to share with all your friends. You want to grab their hands and shout, YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK! I was hooked with the first scene: When these three women climbed into their little boat and bared their souls, I was right there with them. I laughed and cried throughout their heartwrenching journey with Lillian and their funny, poignant journey with Maggie to find life after divorce. You'll love everything about this book, including "Mr. Fixit!" Peggy Webb is a favorite author of mine, and she shines in the MUST READ book of 2015"
All of Peggy Webb's books are enjoyable, but this one is a definite keeper. Spending the summer with Maggie, Jean, and Lillian is like being with your best friends on vacation. These three women are going through life-changing experiences, and their friendships with one another are the anchor in their chaos. I loved this book! I laughed and cried and couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next.
