State of Mind by John Katzenbach

Twenty-five years ago, Jeffrey and Susan Clayton fled their tyrannical father--a man who was later suspected in the heinous murder of a young student. Though the father was never charged, he committed suicide. Or so it seemed. For someone has sent Susan a cryptic note. Once deciphered, it carries a terrifying message: I have found you.

Meanwhile, a serial killer has invaded a tightly controlled community. Is Jeffrey Clayton's father the source of this latest killing spree? The authorities think so--and they present Jeffrey, now a noted expert on serial killers, with a challenge: Find the butcher responsible for the newborn spate of carnage. Find your father. . . .

State of Mind, grabs your from the beginning and keeps you going and guessing! A little slow at times, but a good read and picks up again once it gets a little slow. This is the second book I read by John Katzenbach. I am truly in love with his writings and this book is another one that'll keep going in love with his work. Its gripping, twisting, and you never really want to put it down. You see the characters change and grow from the beginning to the end, and become stronger and more independent, and sometimes keep you guessing on what they'll do next! I recommend this book!

This is the first book I have read of John Katzenbachs!. I had found it to be the type of book one does not want to put down. Compared to Jeffery Deavers, ' The Bone Collector '. State Of Mind, is not near as suspensfull, but you will like it, the plot, the characters, the ending. Great read in my opinion!. And I am one who loves murder, thriller, blood and meaness in the serial killers of the books I read. And I put State of Mind , right up there with some of the best I have read.
