Overview
Billie D'Angelo renews the war between the North and South when she attempts to steal her horse from the Yankee officer who commandeered him during the war. Billie is determined to get Destiny, the former pride of her father's stable, back by any means possible. The war took her family, their horse breeding farm, and all the horses. Destiny is all she has left. When Grayson Vanderlyn foils her attempt to take Destiny, Billie's glad she wore the ragamuffin disguise she used during the war.
Grayson admires the courage of the slender youth who traveled so far to reclaim Destiny. He ought to turn the rapscallion over to the authorities, but he doesn't. Something about the boy intrigues him.
The reprieve offers Billie a second chance and she steals Destiny. Grayson not only follows her, he discovers she is a lovely young woman. He's stunned and utterly smitten. All he wants is Billie by his side, but he isn't the only one who wants her. A man from her past wants her dead.
Cross-country chases, renegade former Confederates, horse stealing, and a wicked villain add up to a romantic love-on-the-run. But then, true love never did come easy.

Award-winning author Ginger Hanson writes contemporary and historical romance novels, as well as short stories and mostly humorous essays. Her contemporary romance series is set in the fictional town of Tassanoxie, AL, a small town full of second chances. Fall in love with the town and its characters in Feather's Last Dance, Ellie's Song, “A Christmas Diamond for Merry,” “The Courtship of Serena Smith,” “Love to the Rescue,” and Susannah’s Promise.

Originally published by Kensington in 2004, the novels are Darring’s Angels stories. Enjoy Regency? Then check out Lady Runaway, Ginger's venture into the Regency era. While her historical romances tend to be sensual and action-packed, her sweet romances feature the lives and loves of everyday people.
In 2013 Ginger launched Saderra Publishing, a micro publishing company dedicated to bringing her stories to e-readers everywhere. Saderra Publishing's first release was A Dash of Ginger, Sassy Southern Essays, a collection of humorous essays. A recent publication, She Sat, He Stood focuses on how to write dialogue by incorporating body language, props, and setting.
