Stealing Fire (Bad Boys Of The Underworld, #5) by Mallory Crowe

When Ella's father is missing, she finds him held captive by a dangerous and devastatingly handsome a man, who gives her one choice: Her father may go free, but she must stay with him--for good.

There is more to Lucian than what Ella initially sees. He isn't just a crazed kidnapper wrapped into irresistible eye candy. Heading a group of shape shifters who live as humans by day and hideous monsters by night, Lucian is desperate to uncover why his kind hasn't been reproduced in centuries. Determined to solve this mystery, Lucian sees Ella as an answer. Together, they begin to discover the truth--a truth that just might be what Lucian's been afraid of all along.

But their days together are numbered. Lucian's enemies will stop at nothing to destroy him--and anything he loves. Lucian and Ella refuse to give up that easily. Will beauty and love prevail, taming the beast once and for all?

This book had me captivated from the beginning. Although the beginning started off way too similar to Beauty and the Beast, the story was far from it. Really great book.

Attention grabbing tale... The myotis are back and this time we get to see Lucian's story unfold! Ella won't give up looking for her missing father... following a lead, she falls into a wild adventure learning there is more out there than she ever thought! She may be the key to saving the myotis, but it places her life in danger! You go along an action packed beauty and the beast like adventure! I loved the way the story flowed! It definitely touched my emotions seeing what the characters go through! I would love to see this series continue... I really want to see one specific character have the chance to have his own story... crossing my fingers! STEALING FIRE is a wonderful addition to this interesting and entertaining series! *copy given in exchange for an honest review.

Hunky men, bad guys, paranormal abilities, and love. This is only the second book I have read in the Bad Boys of the Underworld series, I read the first one and the last one - go figure, but i didn't have any problem following the story as it seemed to be stand-alone with only a few references to things or people I didn't know about that may have been in other books. Ella's father is missing and nobody seems to be taking it seriously except for her. When she finds out that the police have found his car with no sign of him, she decides to take things into her own hands. What she discovers will change her life forever. Lucian is a myotis, a species that hasn't been able to produce children for a long time. When he figures out that Ella may be part of the answer to this problem he blackmails her into staying at his compound for some "tests." Now throw in the alien vampires that are trying to get a foothold on this planet and you have a pretty good story-line going. Of course the attraction between Ella and Lucian doesn't hurt! This book had a lot going for it. I am not going to spoil it for anyone by telling you all the juicy details. I will just say that you will enjoy it if you like these kinds of tales.
