In this first book in a thrilling new romantic suspense series...

Justice "Grey" Greystone was fired from the FBI for insubordination. Now the FBI wants him to use his renegade skills to take down a serial killer who's above the law. To trap the Lion, Grey will need to send the perfect woman undercover.

Sydney Banfield runs a women's shelter and bends the law daily to help victims of abuse escape their painful lives. Three of the women she's recruited for government jobs have become victims of the Lion. If Syd has her way, the vicious killer will never touch another woman again.

Grey and Sydney set a trap--with Sydney as the sexy bait--but the Lion adds a complex twist to his homicidal agenda. With Sydney's life on the line, Grey must race against the clock to catch a killer who's as unstoppable as he is evil.

The authors (it took two of them?) keep telling us how"sassy" the heroine is but she's just annoying

Fun and Feminist Friendly Misty Evans’s Stealing Justice is a fun read with likeable feminist-friendly characters, and lot of heart. Sydney is a kick-ass fighter for social justice, and Grey is hot ex FBI agent looking to clear his name and his conscience. The locations are vivid and the tension and passion well portrayed, the story is a fun romp through a fantasy setting. The characters are great, with believable chemistry and lots of room for a series to form under their partnership. My only real complaints are the repetitive use of pet names ‘Feb Boy,’ condescending thought, ‘good girl’, the addition of 'ass' to the end of more words than necessary, repetitive obsessing over the dead sister, and some overuse of cupcakes. Lets keep our heroes lean and mean. Seriously, not even in a fantasy do they need to eat a dozen cupcakes every time they see each other even if they burn some of it off having sex. I look forward to reading more books in this series, but in the future if there is going to be a bad guy who is a foreigner it would be good to have an active character in the story from that country who isn’t bad guy.

Saying this book was excellent is an understatement. This was the first book I have read by Evans and Giordano and it definently won't be the last. The authors created a perfect match with Grey and Sydney. I felt that the characters were relatable which made the book that much more interesting. There is the perfect amount of suspense, romance, and humor. I went to bed lastnight with about 50 pages left to read and woke up eager to find out how the book ended. I cannot stress how much I am looking forwarded to the next chapter to this series. I will recommend this book to everyone I know.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. The overall story and mystery are good. I was really guessing until the very end as to who the killer was. I was confused in the beginning of the book and I felt as if I'd jumped into the middle of something and needed to catch up. Even though everything is eventually explained, I would have preferred if some of the back story and characters had been explained in the very beginning. The romance of Grey and Sydney moved pretty fast. While I admire a spunky heroine like Sydney, I was a little turned off by how aggressive she was sexually toward Grey in the beginning. Eventually though, the romance mellowed out and grey's protective streak was sweet. Overall, a good romantic suspense read.

This was the first book that I’ve read written by Misty Evans. I enjoyed it from the moment I picked it up. I love any book that deals with the Military, FBI, CIA…This was a fast paced action-filled romantic suspense novel. Loved the interaction between the characters…It kept me on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait for the next installment. I would like to disclose that I received a copy of Stealing Justice in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Wonderful Book!! I was lucky and got an ARC of this book from the Authors. This was a GREAT book! It has it all romance, suspense, and action. Grey was fired from the FBI and is working an undercover operation to find a serial killer. He needs a woman to help him work under cover to find the killer so he enlists the help from Syd. Syd is working to help battered women escape from their abusive husbands and partners, so she is more than willing to help Grey find the killer. Syd is a strong independent woman who likes to do things her way, so it is interesting and enjoyable seeing how Syd and Grey work together as partners. If you like a great romance, with suspense and action that will keep you reading until you are done with the book then you need to read this book! A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Justice 'Grey' Greystone is a powerful force. He is on the hunt for a killer and nothing will stand in his way. But he hasn't meet Sydney yet. She is just as determine to achieve her goal. Her job is to protect battered women and help them escape their abusers. They form an uneasy partnership. She will help him capture the 'Lion', a vicious murderer. These two are a perfect match in mind and body. Both are passionate, driven people who have dark secrets. When they are together, their attraction sizzles. These two are a red hot couple. Who doesn't love a man who brings you cupcakes. Stealing Justice is an action packed thriller filled with compelling characters. The power and politics of Washington DC add to the suspense and danger. Grey and his partner, Monroe, are dangerous men who won't back down from a fight. Sydney has amazing depth. She is no damsel in distress. The plot took an unexpected twist that caught me by surprise. The interaction between characters is sharp, witty and sexy. This story is a wonderful introduction to The Justice Team. I can't wait for Monroe's story.

A sexy former FBI agent and a strong-willed, feisty lady have a big clash of wills in this excellent suspense story. There is a killer on the loose and the only way to catch him is by being bait. Fast paced action written to drag you in and hold you down till you finish! So many close calls and fantastic cupcake scenes.. Yes, I said cupcakes. That quirky touch that makes this story sparkle. The characters have strong personalities and it is fun to see them click and figure out how to work together.  The fast paced romance, not a long drawn-out dating scene is refreshing.  Great depth of story about government cover-ups, dignitary freedoms and fighting for your life. I highly recommend this and any other Misty Evans book!

Excellent romance, fantastic suspense, and humor! Definite must-read. Can’t wait for the next book! I eagerly awaited the release of this book, the first in a new series – The Justice Team. I was hooked from page 1! The hero, Justice “Grey” Greystone is a disgraced, outside the lines ex-FBI agent on the hunt of a serial killer at the highest echelons of political society. The FBI kicks him out but is secretly using him to hunt the killer. Grey tracks down the source of escorts to an abused women’s shelter and the woman running it, Sydney Banfield, a woman who doesn’t hesitate to go outside the lines to smuggle her women to safety. She is shocked to find a killer’s trail leads to her doorstep and agrees to go undercover to help catch the killer. This book had humor, suspense, sexual tension and very high heat. It was fast paced, well plotted and great characters. I was hooked on page 1 and never stopped until the end. I often find myself figuring out the killer long before the end, but there were several plot twists and turns that kept me guessing, which I loved!

My Review: 4.6 Star Review - Stealing Justice I recommend this book. This book includes drama, passion, suspense, laughs, betrayal, and heartache. Justice “Grey” Greystone got fired from the FBI. He is still trying to solve the last case he was working for the FBIas he thinks he knows who the killer is. Sydney Banfield works at a woman's shelter. After woman who were previously at her shelter start showing up dead Grey thinks either she is involved or might know the killer. Grey believes that her or her lawyer friend know the killer. After clearing Sydney of any involvement they decide to have her go undercover and try to catch the killer. As Grey is trying to protect Sydney and catch a killer his feeling start to get in the way and he starts to believe he will lose Sydney to the killer. Can they stay alive long enough to solve the case and catch the killer? Can't wait for the next book in this series.

If you like a feisty heroine that isn't afraid to cross the line to help others in danger, you will love reading the story of Syd. But she likes doing things her own way. Now, she may have found someone that is willing to watch her back, if they can find a compromise between her way and his. Grey is an ex-FBI agent on the trail of a serial rapist who killed his victims. He needed a new partner, but what started out with Syd being a tool to the end was ending up much more. Haunted by a failure that cost the life of someone he loved, could he count on Syd following his orders or his own ability to keep her safe long enough to bring the bad guy down? Full of heat, intrigue, and danger, this was a great story that kept me turning pages. Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano are now on my must read list.

Romantic suspense at it's best! This book has it all. Great characters, Grey and Syd are perfect. Great story with a serial killer on the loose, fired FBI agent out to finish what he started and a woman on the run who can help him. I recommend this one for everyone!

Loved Stealing Justice!!! Wonderful adventure! Unique characters that really care!  This book is filled with steam but not a lot of sexual detail. This is the way I like it. Missy Evans creates intrigue, romance, and characters that will grab you by the heart and never let you go! She has run a women's shelter for years. If she has to break the law to make sure they are safe, she will take whatever chances she must to protect them. He is ex-FBI. He has trouble fitting within the lines when it limits his ability to save these women from abuse and death. He is determined to catch the diplomat that he believes hides behind his diplomatic immunity to rape and murder young girls around the world.  When Grey discovers that someone connected with a women's shelter is placing young runaways into prostitution, he intends to use that link to trap the monster who has already killed more than one of of Sydney's lost ones. He will stop at nothing to make sure this murderer pays.   Sydney's strength and fire create a character that not only Grey, but also the reader, will not be able to turn away from. When these two rogues meet, the combustion leaves a lasting impression that will leave you begging for more. I was thrilled to received an ARC of this book from the Misty Evan in return for a review. I wish I had magical words to describe the talent that takes this book far beyond the typical "superspy/undercover cop and beautiful leading lady" mold that even many good romanctic suspense novels fall into. Congratulations to Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano, you have hit it out of the park.

I really enjoyed this--it has a nice blend of suspense, danger, romance, and snarky humor with great characters. I absolutely loved Syd and Grey, two people with less-than-savory backgrounds and a lot to hide, neither of whom was quite ready to let someone get close--even though they both really needed to have something in their lives beyond their jobs. I wanted them to get together from the very beginning, when it was clear that they were perfect for each other even while they were getting on each others' nerves. (Every time Syd called him "Fed Boy" I just had to smile.) Plus, there are cupcakes, which feature prominently in one of the best endings I've read, ever. Every happy ending should have cupcakes, IMHO. The suspense in the novel was very well done--I *thought* I might know "whodunnit" from about the 50% mark, but I wasn't absolutely sure until all was revealed. From that point on, the reading was extremely intense...exactly as it should be. I could not put my ereader down, even though I was supposed to be getting ready to leave for the day. This series is definitely going on my "must buy" list. (I cannot tell you how beyond excited I was to see that Monroe was going to get the next book. He's not in this one a whole lot, but what we do see of him I really liked--and that was before I read the teaser!) 4 1/2 stars, A- rating. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review--and went out and bought my own copy as well. I liked it that much!

Excellent Romantic Suspense! Perfect Recipe; Deranged Serial Killer, High Tension, and a Steamy Romance! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Stealing Justice is Book 1 in The Justice Team series, and I for one, hope there will be many more. Our hero, Justice “Grey” Greystone is an ex-FBI Agent, though not of his own choosing, who is obsessed with bringing down ‘The Lion”, who he believes is a serial killer that preys on women in the Escort business. Problem is he can’t seem to get enough evidence to incriminate the killer. Guilt rides Grey hard because his younger sister was murdered on his watch, and after ‘taking care’ of her killer, he has become focused solely on protecting the innocent, no matter the cost to himself. Under the identity of Jason Black he is the go to man for Front Range Security Specialists, which allows him to covertly do what he could not while in the FBI. Namely remove these threats. He finally has a hard lead on “The Lion” and he is desperate to get him this time. The lead brings him to a beautiful woman who stirs long dead feelings within him. Grey is a sexy, Type A personality, who keeps his emotions close to the vest and has to be the person in charge. That is, until he meets his match in Sydney Banfield. Sydney Banfield is a woman trying to outrun her past by throwing herself into the work she does at St. Agnes Fresh Start Shelter. Taking in women who need to “disappear” from abusive situations, she works tirelessly to find them new identities and lives. She knows what she is involved in is illegal, but the lives of these women are more precious to her than worrying about the legalities. Her motivation: not to let any woman suffer the fate of her mother. Syd is a strong, self assured woman who is used to fending for herself; never relying on a man. She has erected barriers around her emotions and doesn’t plan on changing that-until Grey walks into her life. That’s when the fun begins and sparks fly! I truly enjoyed this book, finding that I didn’t want to put it down. It is very well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. It will engage you from the very first page and keep your adrenaline pumping right until the end. Grey and Syd are very well developed and watching their relationship heat up was so much fun! The sexual tension between them smolders, and they play off each other so well you can feel their energy! The secondary characters are solid and very engaging and I am hoping to see their books coming soon. Hint, Hint!

Sydney, who runs a women's shelter, joins forces with Grey to find a monster who is killing escorts.  Sydney poses as one of the escorts and not only captures the killer's attention, but she also is in line to be one of his victims.  This book is so action packed, and the story so riveting that you will not want to put it down until you devour every word.  The extra steamy scenes and the cupcakes are just icing on top!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.  Count me in for this entire series! If the books to follow are anything like this first book, they are sure to be amazing! Sydney and Grey are wonderful characters, and when they were put together, it was perfect. They are each extremely flawed, which makes for two very interesting characters. However, when you bring their flaws together, they are fascinating. They have a constant clashing of wills in the book, which shows how persistent they are. Not to mention they are also fighting against the strong chemistry they have. Essentially, they have no one, but when this super suspenseful situation throws them together, they end up being very significant to each other.  I don't want to give anything away, but the evolution of their relationship is exciting. I really liked their interactions in the training room scene, and the security system installation scene. Those seemed to stand out the most for me as big moments for Sydney and Grey, as well as the ending. That was a great ending!  I'm excited to see more of Monroe. You can tell there is a lot to his story as well, and it will be great to see who can turn his world upside down while he is off the grid. Overall, Stealing Justice was great! It was interesting, suspenseful, and at times funny. I still laugh whenever I picture Sydney flipping off Grey. It had everything I could want in not only a book, but in a series too. Hopefully there are many cases in the future of The Justice Team!

This is the first novel I've read by Misty Evans. The excerpt was very promising and I was excited to read it. It does start a little slow, but quckly gains momentum. You are introduced to Justice "Grey" Greystone who is security at a plush mansion called the Panthera that caters to the rich and powerful. Smoking Gun, an elite escort service is being watched because escorts are dying, and a powerful man is suspected. Grey is ex-FBI and tormented. You are next introduced to a woman driving to the middle of nowhere. You discover she is a major player in saving battered and abused women. Sydney is a no-nonsense, go for the gut heroine. She works for a women's home that specializes in the rescue of abused and violated women and getting them on a different path. Grey enlists Sydney's aid becaue he believes that her "girls" are the ones being used by the escort service and getting killed. Sydney and Grey together are an explosive and entertaining combination. The books continues to grow and the characters continue to entertain. There is angst, romance, mystery and surprises. Misty, excellent job and I can't wait for your next book. ARC received for an honest review.
