After I read this book I had to contact Diane Ganzer to find out how she came up with the whole idea and how she decided to write it the way she did. What a little bug of information she turned out to be. She informed me that her original idea came from her co-writer Sammy and he had very little to do with the whole thing except to help with refining the final story. I understand a sequel is currently underway and written from an earlier era bringing us to where we have read so far. It sounds confusing, but I have faith they will pull this off perfectly. From speaking with diane, I came to the conclusion that neither of these talented writers has been bitten by the 'I'm all that' bug. Diane has told me of all the other works they have done and the audio books that accompany each printed release. Something for every taste and age. When the audio of Steel destiny is released, I am so there. Keep those ideas pouring into your keyboards you guys. Signed, Top Notch Horseshoe Enthusiast

What Diane has done with dogs for her 'Patrick' series, she has done for Steel Destiny! The visual impact draws the reader in as she describes how an ordinary piece of metal becomes an extraordinary conduit through time as the lives of many people are touched for better or worse. The ending will leave you breathless, so I won't give it away. Diane...go for it, make another story like this, I'll be the first in line to buy it!

This vibrant story unfolds just after the Civil War, spanning almost 100 years. Diane gives her story rich meaning, pulling the reader in. I felt I was on the cattle drive with the drovers. I felt Colt's pain when his one true love died. I felt the full scope of dreams that are dashed when luck runs out. I also felt the hope that the promise of luck can bring. If you never read another Western, read this. It is a book that would appeal to teens as well as adults. If you love 'Gunsmoke,' 'Rawhide,' or even 'Maverick,' you'll enjoy this!

This book has many major components to make it a great read on a cold winter's day! The love story of Lizzy and Colt, intertwined with the whole moral of what Destiny is all about makes this a fine read. The cattle drive, especially with the ambush scene was exciting and riveting! Two thumbs way up high to Diane for her writing style, and to Sammy St Croix for the inspiration to write it in the first place! Good job!!! Keep up the work and don't let the naysayers get ya down. You ARE an accomplished duo and don't ever forget it!

For reasons that I'd rather not explain, I have found out that Diane Ganzer is not who she portrays herself to be. Therefore, as an author myself, I would not recommend reading any of Diane Ganzer's books.
