About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Kelsey Browning writes humorous Southern women’s fiction with a sprinkling of mystery, sexy contemporary romance, and romantic suspense. Her Georgia-set, co-authored G Team mystery series is described by readers as “The Golden Girls meet Dirty Harry.” Her single title romances garner reviews that call her writing funny, sassy, and full of sizzling chemistry. Originally from a Texas town smaller than the ones she writes about, Kelsey has also lived in the Middle East and Los Angeles, proving she’s either adventurous or downright nuts. These days, she makes her home in northeast Georgia with her tech-savvy husband, her smart-talking son, a rescue dog from Qatar, and her (fingers crossed) future therapy pup. Find Kelsey online at

USA Today bestselling author Tracey Devlyn wanted to be the next Dian Fossey and explore the wilds of Africa, but that was before she met chemistry and calculus and realized a business major, rather than a science degree, might be more up her alley. Tracey writes contemporary and historical romantic suspense, historical mysteries, and mainstream thrillers. An Illinois native, Tracey spends her evenings harassing her once-in-a-lifetime husband and her weekends torturing her characters. Adrienne Giordano is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty romantic suspense and mystery novels. She is a Jersey girl at heart, but now lives in the Midwest with her workaholic husband, sports-obsessed son and Buddy the Wheaten Terrorist (Terrier). She is a cofounder of Romance University blog and Lady Jane’s Salon-Naperville, a reading series dedicated to romantic fiction. For more information on Adrienne’s books, please visit

Just so your not disappointed, this is only an introduction to the characters in the series. Recommend you keep reading the series. Mjw

This should have been incorporated into the the other books. They would have made more sense.

## Not bad...just 35 pages. Introducing 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I ended up purchasing Britt's story because I liked the premise of a loner who lived in a remote cabin. Turns out his family was always around and his cabin was only 10 min from town. Did not care for it. Maybe the other stories are better since they are written by different authors. Loving Deep was not worth the five bucks. Bummer.

Nice characters and a good intro to the series but not enough plot to get me interested in purchasing the series. Each of the characters are introduced and their relationship is established. They get together for their mom's birthday and the story ends. Even for a freebie book, this isn't enough to make a purchase worthwhile.

Brothers What a wonderful beginning to a series. 4 hometown boys coming home for mom's birthday. Stopping a fire and wanting to make things better in their hometown.

Nicely set foundation for the series that will follow. My appetite has been whet for what the future holds for the not only the Steele brothers, but the whole family, and the town. Only good things will come from the collaboration of the writing from these authors...who are the best st what they do...creating an escape into a world of characters that are not easily forgotten.

This prequel is a great introduction to the Steele brothers and the residents of Steele Ridge. The four Steele brothers have a competitive, playful, and entertaining relationship and I look forward to reading each of their stories.

STEELE RIDGE: The Beginning is a short story that introduces the Steele brothers -Grif, Reid, Britt and Jonah- along with their sisters Evie and Mickie, and their return to Canyon Ridge, North Carolina. Like many introductory novellas (and short stories) we get a quick glimpse into the Steele brother’s dynamics and the women they left behind. Canyon Ridge, North Carolina is a dying town; near bankrupt and on the verge of financial ruin when someone sets fire to the albatross of a community center. Enter the four Steele brothers who have returned to their home town to celebrate their mother’s sixtieth birthday. What ensues is the search for the person responsible for the fire, and each of the brother’s reflection on what was and what they left behind. STEELE RIDGE is a very quick read that reveals some of the personal background information as it pertains to each of the brothers; their father’s lack of presence in their mother’s life; and a sister who may or may not be the black sheep of the family. NOTE: Reading STEELE RIDGE The Beginning is not necessary to understand the premise of the series.

A quick fun and free introduction to the Steele Brothers, the women that will have them questioning want they really want and the upcoming series. Each of the brothers has made it in their own way but unless they want to see their hometown fade away they each need to step up and help the failing town. None are particularly happy about it but they are all in! Can't wait to start reading each of their stories. While I don't think it's necessary to read this before the reading the series, I do think you'll enjoy it.

This short prequel written by three authors introduces us to four brothers, their family and the town they are returning to. Each brother is different, special and will have something to contribute to making the area of their hometown better. My guess is that each one will also find a love of his own.

A prequel novella to introduce us to a new series by authors Kelsey Browning, Tracey Devlyn, and Adrienne Giordano centering around The Steele Brothers from Canyon Ridge, North Carolina. We meet the 4 brothers, Grif, Reid, Britt and Jonah who are all together discussing the problems in their hometown. We briefly see some of them catching the eye of a women … Grif with Carlie Beth, Reid with Brynne and Britt with Miranda. The series promises to bring more of these studly brothers, the women who have caught their eye, and the secrets they are hiding! Great teaser to what's to come!
