Yet, this last year taught me that sometimes being merciful doesn't mean staying quiet or playing nice.
It means reaching out, speaking up, yelling "STOP!" when someone's actions, words, or body language seem to come against you and make you feel uncomfortable, inferior, or inadequate.
As you can clearly see, a lot of sticks and stones have been thrown at me but I've decided to use them to rebuild me and all the people who have ever felt the same.
I hope these poems give you the courage to know the difference between when to be merciful and knowing when to be merciless, and when to walk away from people who always make it a point to focus on your mistakes.
