This book really took me by surprise. When I began reading it, I absolutely did not expect it to take me where it ultimately did. I was blown away, and there are very few I will ever say that about. This book deserves the slow clap that gradually gains momentum. Seriously, it was a “Oh Captain, my Captain” Dead Poet’s Society kind of moment for me when I finished this. (Did I just completely date myself there?) I just didn’t see that coming from a book that I thought at first glance would be a sexy romp between a porn star and law student. Carson Stinger is a straight male porn performer. He’s in Vegas for a convention where he literally runs into Grace Hamilton in the lobby of the hotel where they are both staying. Grace is about as rigid and straight-laced as a person can be. She’s a law student who has a plan, and when I say plan I mean she must write things down in pen so she can’t deviate from them ever. She thinks he’s gorgeous until she sees his nametag “Carson Stinger, straight male performer” and knows that he’s with the porn convention. Sure, she’s being horribly judgmental, but can you blame her? I don’t know many women who would go for a porn star, no matter how hot he is. Anyway, they are thrown together in what turns out to be a very fortunately unfortunate situation and realize they have more in common than one would assume, not to mention sizzling physical chemistry. They decide to spend the weekend together, and in doing so, are irrevocably changed. Carson is one of the best male characters I have had the pleasure to get to know in a long time. He’s had a hard life, but manages to be very grounded and self-effacing (thanks Granny!). He’s hilarious as well, which is always a winner. And he’s sexy as hell. Really can’t go wrong with that. Grace is also a very endearing character. She’s driven and also has a quick wit and vulnerability about her that draws you in. What I found genuinely wonderful about reading this book is that in the journey these two take over the course of a five year period, they change in ways while they are apart that bring them closer together. The book has an underlying message to it about life that is quite beautiful. Life is messy, life is complicated, life is ugly, life will let you down as much as it lifts you up, life is unpredictable, life is unfair, life is lovely. Life is wild. It’s also rare for me to read about a relationship in a book that has so many realistic elements to it. The ease between Carson and Grace is something that echoes in real life relationships, and I really connected with that. Not to mention, the writing style and plot development make it difficult to put the book down. This is one of those books for which I ignored everything going on around me (sorry kids! Sorry husband!) in order to finish…I literally could not stop reading it until I finished it. As I said, it really took me someplace I didn’t expect, and I can’t imagine you will meet anyone who reads this book that can give it less than a stellar review. It’s just that good.

I really liked the story, the characters were likable and it was 1134 pages on my nook... definitely going to look for more from this author... loved the fact that it was a complete book for once..no waiting!

Although this novel is a stand-alone, it is a love story just as beautiful as the previous 'Leo' books. And this is quite an accomplishment in this book because the main characters could not be more different (she is a superachieving law student and he is a porn star). Yet this author managed to craft very relatable characters despite their flaws. I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 because the story deflated a little bit towards the end while attempting to introduce some action scenes. They were not very realistic. But the romance is terrific and worth reading.

I wasn't sure I would like Carson Stinger because of what he did for a living, but I absolutly love him. Great read.

Wow! I will admit I was a bit leary about reading this, but I'm sure glad I did! It was well written with great description and an unique storyline. You won't be sorry you read it!

4.5 stars! I absolutely adored this book! I loved the back and forth banter between Grace and Carson. Carson Stinger is one hot "straight male entertainer"! I fell in love with him and this book!

I absolutely loved, loved, loved this book. The story line and the writing are fan-freakin-tastic. I read about 20 to 30 contempory & erotic romance books a month and some of them get boring and drawn out. But this story will blow your mind! From the very begining I was so engrossed that I couldn't read and turn the pages fast enough from the very begining til the end. I laugh and I crird and I loved every minute of it. The characters are established and described so well that you feel like you've known them forever. Carson has to deal with such trials and tribulations in his life. Then he meets Grace and it turns out she's his saving grace. Their friends and families are also such an essential part of bringing this story together. This is my first story by Mia but it will definitely not be my last. I highly recommend this book to everyone. This one of the best love stories I have ever read. I wouldn't change a thing. The chemistry between Carson & Grace, sexual and otherwise is off the charts. Thank You to Mia for writing and sharing this story with us. And Bravo!

This was an amazing read. The characters were amazing and the emotions were true and honest. This story took on a direction that I was not expecting but truly enjoyed. This author is one I will be reading lots of more from now on. I cant even begin to describe how wonderfully this author brought these characters to life and made them stand out. Great read that was well worth the money and was over 1100 pages on my nook color!

Loved. This. Book. Wow. I'm a little bit in love with Carson and for once the female character didn't annoy me lol. Agree with a previous poster that this book deserves a slow clap! I also read 20+ books a month and this author always gives me something new. I will admit I wasn't a huge Leo fan (love her writing style just didnt like the story's characters) but Archers voice, like Stinger, I was just blown away by. Thanks Mia for your stories!!! Love them.

Carson Stinger...Straight Male Performer! Well I found another BBF, flove Carson Stinger. I actually listened to this via audio so I am not sure how different it would be reading but I really loved this book. Heck, I love all of Mia's books. I really enjoyed this story, there were def moments I wondered how things were going to go but it is written beautifully. Carson and Grace have a beautiful love story and like any good love story there are twists and turns, ups and downs, heartache but there is also love throughout and it conquers all. Totally recommend!!!

'To malfunctioning elevators!’ Carson I loved everything about it! But more specifically here are the most outstanding elements of Grace Hamilton and Carson Stinger’s unusual story for me: Stinger’s 6 Greats: 1. Carson’s Titanic movie references – I totally agreed with him and loved every time he brought up “never let go, baby.” Haha! 2. Umm, the sex. Duh! 3. The revelations that they both shared about their upbringing and being polar opposites in outlook as a result of it. 4. The many times Carter initiated non-sexual PDAs, squee! 5. Carson’s varying explanations of why he called Grace ‘Buttercup’  6. How Mia handled the serious issues like the changes in the porn industry, realizing the importance of following your own dreams and not doing something to just please someone else, recognizing your own self worth, successful and failed attempts to repair broken parent-child relationships and human sex trafficking which is sadly alive and well in the U.S. I have so many wonderful quotes highlighted – some funny, sexy, beautiful or simply profound. Here is one of my favorite ones not shared on GoodReads: ‘Carson had infected me, it was true, but maybe his looks weren’t the only part of his poison. Maybe it was his spirit too. And maybe when it came to Carson, just like a vaccine, a little poison was the cure, not the disease.’ Grace Life really and truly is wild. And for many it can be tragic and sad so I for one will continue to count my blessings and often. My next Mia Sheridan reads will be Leo & Leo’s Chance, both A Sign of Love series novels and available now.

After getting reacquainted with my love for Mia Sheridan's writing while reading Archer's Voice, I decided to go on a bit of a binge. (Ok, I read two of her books in a row. I wanted to keep going, but the angsty goodness was becoming overwhelming. I'll get back to it soon.) I wasn't sure how Stinger, a male porn star, would measure up to Archer, but he was really oh-so-much more than that and I fell just about as head over heels for him as I did Archer.  Grace and Stinger's meeting was unconventional and they were an unlikely pairing for more than just one night of passion. She was a law student. He was an up and coming porn star. They were both in Vegas for conferences in their respective professions. There was a definite sizzle when they ran into each other and their time trapped in an elevator gave them a chance to get to know each other better. Had it not been for that shared time, they probably would've done little more than pass each other. (Can I break for a moment to say how much I love "stuck in an elevator" stories? I'd freak out if I was ever stuck in one – with or without a sexy man – but as a meet-cute, I find it perfect.)  Despite her strong convictions about sex and relationships, Grace gives in to Stinger's offer for a weekend of passion. There was something more between them, something they both wanted to explore but didn't know how to go about it. It about ripped my heart out when they had a disagreement and said goodbye after their time together. Neither of them knew just how much the little time they spent together changed them and their paths in life. It was the catalyst for big changes for both of them.  The storyline of Stinger takes place over a long span of time. Normally I find fast forwards in books distracting, but it really worked for me here. There was so much story to tell but I loved how Mia focused us on the most important parts and didn't get distracted by the things that didn't matter as much. I didn't feel lost in the time jumps and I never felt like I was missing anything particularly relevant. This story was all about how Grace and Carson (Stinger) found their way back to each other after their initial meeting years before. But first, they had to find themselves. Otherwise they would never be ready to be with each other.  The characters were wonderful. Grace was easily likable. She was intelligent, driven and strong. She was a lady with a plan. I loved when Carson started pushing her boundaries upon their first meeting. Of course, I had to get past my preconceived notions of porn stars right along with Grace. There was something special and different about him right from the start. He was making good money, but he wasn't proud of the work he was doing. In their short time together, Grace made him realize just that. He wanted to be better. He wanted to feel as though he deserved her. He gave me all the warm fuzzies as his journey began. I still can't help but think of parts of the story and smile. Carson is definitely up near the top in the pyramid of awesome book boyfriends. And together? Grace and Carson were perfection... in the beginning and all those years later.  This book was pretty much the total package for me. I loved the unexpected meeting, the personal growth and the second chance story. It was sexy, romantic and the perfect kind of angsty. There were twists and turns and I couldn't put it down once I started. More than anything, I loved the emphasis on time and fate in this story. I've always found such concepts fascinating – how much different your life can become based on one small choice, meeting one person or deviating from your usual schedule just a bit. It was beautifully illustrated here with a love story that will stick with me for a long time to come.

This book sat in my library for a while. I kept thinking I'm not going to like this book about a porn star and a law student and as it turns out I was right I didn't like it, I loved it!! You see the characters develop and just as in the real world you how maybe one instance in time has a profound change in someone. This was a beautiful story and I can't wait to read more by this author!

I have read all 4 of Mia's books, Stinger is my favorite. Everything that Carson and Grace went through during a 5 year time span was nothing short of amazing. They found each other during a convention. Parted ways and THEN found each other again....LOve, Love this book

This was truly a wonderful book. After reading Archer's Voice I was doubtful that this one would measure up but I was totally wrong. Loved the characters and their chemistry. This book has passion, humor, drama and heartbreak. I will definately be reading this one again. Loved it!
