Great book if you are just starting the investment game.. As a financial advisor, I like this book because it is written in plain English. It's a good book for anyone that wants to learn the Wall Street stock market game and build wealth. It teaches you how to calculate rates of returns, determine your risk level and the rule of 72, which will help you reach your financial goals. Chapter 2, the fundamentals of the stock market, explains the various exchanges, how to value a stock and a list of the typical questions and answers a novice investor would ask. Stock market Investing for Beginners also gives good advice on when to sell a stock. There are chapters on how to analyze stocks, read the stock quotes, explanation of the various valuation ratios and how to structure your investment portfolio with various alternative investments. There is also a glossary, so you can understand the Wall Street language. Study this book chapter by chapter and you'll make wiser investment decisions. I also recommend you read and study this book before you seek out a stockbroker or financial advisor, that way you'll never be led astray by Wall Street professionals.

I knew almost nothing about investing and how to get into the stock market. This book takes you through the ins and outs of investing step by step and makes it quite simple. The book was easy to understand and quite informative. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning how to invest

This was a very interesting read. I learned a lot about the differences in stocks and investments, and look forward to giving it a try here soon. It gives advice on which type of one's are better suited to begin with, and ones that might need to be stared clear of. I received this e-book in exchange for an honest review. This is helpful for explaining stocks, bonds, certificates of deposits and mutual funds, which I had heard of but was unclear about prior. It also mentioned other investment terms that I was completely new to learn about. This is not a quick read, and to be honest, it was a challenge for me to finish it. For the true beginner who is wanting to actively begin the process of investing and planning for the future, this is an informative book. I think that it should be read once first, and then read again a second time to take notes and highlight certain aspects. I do not have any previous training in this subject; however this book would work well for the “beginners” who have taken a class in college in economy or similar subject in order to prepare a bit for this information. I would not label it as a beginner book.

There was a lot of info in the book but it wasn't overwhelming. I usually don't even understand when it comes to this money but I was able to digest what this book was saying. I did get lost in some parts but it was okay. It walked me through short term and long term ventures. Right now I know I need to invest in my family lifestyle but in the near future I need to invest in retirement. It lays out in simple terms how to understand things like your risk level and the fundamentals of the stock market. Building your portfolio was filled with useful tips and makes me want to get to that point.

The author gives a great overview of the stock market and why it's the place to invest for your future. It's very educational and offers an objective overview of the why's where's and how to's of investing wisely. Especially helpful are chapters on picking the best stocks and knowing when to sell. I am going to put a lot of this information to the test with my own investment activities this year.

Reading “Stock Market Investing for Beginners” is like taking an informative course in Investing 101. Accessing your motivation, setting attainable goals, and doing your research is explained in a clear and engaging format.

If you have little to no stock market experience at all, this book is right for you. Its information is basic and essential for someone just learning the ropes in such a complex field. In the book, they discuss the instability of the market. That was useful because it is easy to think some people have the secrets and others don’t. Sometimes that might be the case, but this book makes it clear that with a little basic know-how you might be able to profit from investments in the stock market.

TIME – wow the power of time.   If you are 30 with no savings and make $40,000 you can retire a millionaire at 65 if you start today!   I wish I had this book 30 years ago!!   Another big lesson in this book though  is it is never to too late and no amount is too small.

This book is a great guide for a novice to the stock market and personal investments. It explains investing in a very easy to understand manner. It describes different types of investments that one might choose to build their personal portfolio and growth their wealth. It takes the mystery out of it, and gives even a regular lay person the foundation to start a financial plan, regardless of whether they have $1,000 or $100,000 to start out with. What may seem like an intimidating proposition to the novice investor, now seems like something that virtually anyone can do. I definitely recommend this for anyone interested in learning about investing their money.

Wonderfully written and useful. I read a couple of books in preparation to deciding how to go about starting a college fund for son, and Stock Market Investing for Beginners was by a wide margin the most helpful for me (having a disappointing lack of financial wherewithal).

This is not a “get rich quick book”, but rather, reads like a textbook on tested and true investment strategies. It does a great job of explaining all the various terminology like NASDAQ and NYSE, or net/profit margin. Much of it is written in a Q and A style, with my favorite section, entitled, “10 Important Questions.” All in all, this book lays out everything you need to know about the stock market in simple terms, and won’t frighten the reader away from investing at all.

A long, very detailed book but well worth the read. I gained a ton of information about the different types of popular stocks available and how to make smart decisions regarding investments. This is a very helpful read for a beginner.

For anyone new to investing, this book breaks the task down into bite-sized objectives (selecting & rating stocks, brokers, diversifying, etc) laid out in a fashion that can be used as a good reference. It lays out various, reasonable financial goals, and the glossary in the back is very helpful. Good book on the basic fundamentals of investing.

I loved this book. I have always wanted to invest in the stock market but felt intimidated and didn't know how to get started.   This book lays everything out in simple, easy to grasp language with lots of great analogies and examples.. It starts at the very beginning  to build a case for investing and then puts you at ease by reassuring you that no matter what age you may be, investing can work for you.  Chapters include definitions of basic terms likes stocks and bonds and moves and gradually progresses to analysis of different companies and how to choose the right stocks. A must read if you are new to the stock market!

I really enjoyed this book.  There was a lot of information and demands to be read more than once.  I feel confident that after reading this book a few times, I will be savvy and ready to begin developing my portfolio.  This book was thoughtfully written and has an extensive glossary at the end of the book.  This is a keeper

If the stock market is an unfathomable mystery to you, working through this easy-to-understand book is a great place to start.

This book is truly for the beginner. If you’re afraid to approach the stocks and bonds subject, you can feel at ease; the information is orderly and clear. There’s a LOT of graphs, but that’s good; this would be an awful book without them. They help you digest the sea of numbers and equations. The Q&A with answer-examples was a great bonus, as well as the glossary at the end.
