I cherished reading this book every morning with my cup of coffee in hand. Jamie bares her soul to the reader. I felt a loss when I had finished the book and there were no more chapters to read. My first exposure to Jamie was her FB page. What a sense of humor! The Vandals light up my day. I will by purchasing additional books as gifts. Love this lady to pieces! Carrie Stanford

I confess, when I first heard about Stolen Jesus I was a bit skeptical. The title concerned me. However, I gave the book a chance, and I’m so glad I did! Stolen Jesus didn’t disappoint. It was a fresh reminder about the type of relationship Jesus came to earth to offer His followers. A relationship that isn’t based on man made rules and regulations, but rather on freedom and rest in His presence. Author, Jamie Amerine, combines humor with the Word of God to help readers strip away the presumptions that keep them from enjoying a full and vibrant relationship with Real Jesus. If you’ve felt held back in your relationship with Jesus, I highly recommend Stolen Jesus. Chances are you’ll find yourself somewhere in its pages and end up with a new perspective on the Jesus who’s always loved you, always wanted you and always welcomed you – just the way you are!

I have loved Jami’s writing since a friend introduced me to her blog, Sacred Ground, Sticky Floors. In Stolen Jesus, she shares her journey of letting go of misconceptions about a Jesus who only loves those who succeed, fit in, and follow the rules, to embracing the real Jesus. Her authentic stories, humor, and depth draw her readers into the warmth of His grace, and remind us that He wants to be part of every moment of our messy lives. I absolutely loved this book, and have been recommending it since the day it released. (I received a complimentary copy as a member of Jami's launch team.)

The truths in Stolen Jesus are beautiful, interspersed with candid stories that will leave your sides aching from laughter and tears streaming down your face. Jami writes like you're sitting across the kitchen table from an old friend - real, honest, vulnerable, and raw. This book is truly captivating, and once you start turning the pages you'll find it hard to put down. Jami shares her experiences with humility, humor, and a refreshing take on grace. Somehow, in the midst of it all, you find yourself nodding in agreement - like you've lived those stories right alongside her. While she doesn't use this platform to give the answers to life's most challenging questions, she does use it to introduce us to the One who can. A powerful read for anyone in any stage of life, but particularly meaningful for those who have struggled with feeling the need to earn, work for, or win the approval of Jesus. *I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the Publisher.

Stolen Jesus is a book I will read over and over again. Jami Amerine is a masterful story-teller who had me laughing, crying, and pondering, all within the same chapter. Stolen Jesus will cause you to examine your own heart and assumptions a little more closely as you discover the beauty and grace of the Real Savior. *I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher.

This book. It is thought provoking without making your head hurt. As Jami tackles the different 'Jesus' figures she's created over her life, I was left pondering if I've done something similar in my own life. Her storytelling will draw you into her comical life. I honestly feel as if I've gained a best friend after reading this book. This bestie doesn't preach at you. Instead she encourages you to dig deeper into the love of the Real Jesus. I laughed until I cried. And then I just cried because the love of Real Jesus is just that great. I will definitely have this book on my shelf and purchase as a gift for others. I was given an ARC to read in anticipation of a review.

Once I started reading I could not stop. The author laid bare her entire heart and soul in the writing of this book. It is a risk that certainly pays off. I was unable to stop reading as my heart both broke and sang simultaneously!

Stolen Jesus… a delightful memoir of how Jami came to find and run to and embrace the real Jesus, after so many years of trying to follow and being afraid of the made-up Jesus’s of her childhood and early adult years. The Jesus Jami introduces us to wants you. Loves you. Covers you. Invites you. Is amused, not repulsed by your antics. Finds no fault in you. You want to go to Him. You want to run into His arms. I was given an advance copy of this book, and by the time I was finished (and more than once while reading), all I wanted to do was to go to my room, close the door, curl up in His lap and bawl from the sheer relief of finally being understood, loved, cared for, protected, safe, covered, accepted as I am. Never have I read something that freed my soul to just rest in Jesus like this book has. Great read for believer and unbeliever alike. Believer - your heart will soar as you realize the truth: you are free. Unbeliever - you just might decide you want to meet this Jesus after all. He’s the real deal.

Words still escape me as I try to put words to the experience of reading this book. I laughed, I felt seen and known, and I sobbed. There were moments where I thought, I don't need this book. And then, two chapters from the end, it was like the words jumped off the page and knocked me over. This is a book for all people. It will shake your belief about Jesus and help you see the real Jesus of the Bible. Not the Jesus that the world tells us to believe. But the one in the pages of scripture. That we get to know when we dig into the nitty gritty of life with him. Jami Amerine shares her heart and soul in this book. And I'm grateful I got to read it. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. This review is my own, honest opinion.

What a trip! First, let me say, Jami is FUNNY! This book is FUNNY! Yet, it is also raw. In one moment I’m laughing, but in the very next I’m crying. I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher about three weeks ago. I zipped through the first half, which is loaded with colorful antics from Jami’s present & past life. Towards the middle of the book, I slowed down, because there is so much to process. Here we find less anecdotes and more of Jami sharing the Truths she has learned about the Real Jesus. Jami opens her heart and lets us explore her journey to finding Real Jesus. She is very personable, gracious, and transparent. This book gently challenges the reader to examine his/her life and beliefs, with the ultimate goal that each of us finds the Real Jesus. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh or anyone who is even the tiniest bit curious as to who this Jesus guy is. Trust me; the ride is worth the price of admission.

I am a recovering perfectionist/legalist and supposed controller of all.the.things. I didn’t realize that I had defined Jesus according to what I believed about MYSELF until I read this book. I recognized myself on every page. Except getting my hair caught in a Target shopping cart. Never done that. If you had told me that I was approaching my faith walk as a to-do list, I would have argued with you. Because I know better. But those who are wiser than me have pointed out that you live out of what you actually believe. Looking at what I live? I am a recovering less-than who has settled for believing that Jesus looks at me this way too. What are we DOING to ourselves? Or worse yet, to other believers? I have cried tears of sweet relief realizing that all of the measuring up was putting Jesus in a box and putting me in chains. No more. Full disclosure: I received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review. The opinions above are my own.

This book was so good that I didn't want it to end. Jami has a way of bringing you into the stories that she is telling and make you feel like you are sitting with her having a cup of coffee. These stories were weaved in a way to truly relate her message of the importance of seeking and finding the "real Jesus". It was through this story telling that her message was made genuinely and with sincerity. I related to many of her stories of misguided and unsure faith, and that ultimately ''real Jesus'' is kind, approachable, loving, and giving of Grace. And regardless of the many man made Jesus in the world today we can all find Him. I received this Advance Reader Copy from the publisher for my honest review. These opinions are my own.

Jami Amerine is delightful and her journey to find truth is real and honest. This isn't a how-to type of book but Jami's personal story, and it is so easy to relate to. This book needed to be written and I highly recommend it, wherever you are on your Jesus journey. I received an advance reader copy of the book.

"OH my goodness did I love this book! So many things resonated with me. Jami is funny, thought provoking and genuine in her story of her finding the Real Jesus. She encounters many other man-made portrayals of Jesus throughout her life and still He found her. He was right there all the time. I could relate to the stories of not knowing where our faith truly lies, being hurt by those claiming to follow Jesus, and just being rejected by "His people." in various ways. This is a book you will cherish, laugh at, cry with and connect to. Jami is down to earth and open about things most Christians don't want to talk about, which I appreciated. Being at church every week doesn't make you a follower of Christ, loving like Him does. Jami and her husband currently foster and have adopted from foster care, which is a topic I feel strongly about. She shares stories of her beloved "vandals" (a term of endearment Jami coined for her two rambunctious boys) and how they've been grafted into their family over time. If you want to be challenged, encouraged and reassured, Jami's book is for you. Beware--you may finish it in one night, like me. ;) * Full disclosure: I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions above are my own. I LOVED IT! *
